[b]today video ! dear grayghost i think tor can destroy fighter with hardly manuevering ! i love it I believe "Thor" is just a bodyguard of his bigger "colegues" (s-300;400), and his main role is to destroy some airborn weapons, not the aircrafts... In Russia they used "OSA" (SA-8) missiles as targets.

... SAMs have always been, and will always be a speed-bump. You won't stop an air force with SAMs alone (unless it's an air force that really, really sucks for whatever reason)... Just would like to add a small comment, that during the last 30(!!!) years, not any Air-Force in the world faced Patriot/S-300P category SAMs... ... so being over self-confident might be a bit dangerous. Just remember how over self-confident was the USAF in Stealth technology, till 1999.

Doesn't matter. It would look like it looked in Vietnam. Tactics might change a little, and there are much newer and interesting toys to launch, as well as to conduct EW with, but it would be the same deal. SAMs always have been and will be speed bumps against a well trained air force. If you want a wall, you need to add your own fighters into the mix. Just remember how over self-confident was the USAF in Stealth technology, till 1999. No, they weren't. The fact that Zoltan had to line up the moon and the stars to shoot that aircraft down is proof of this, not the opposite as some people might like to claim.

They knew the F-117 route ahead of time. USAF officers were quite angry at UN forcing them to submit their flight routes (which then got leaked). After this incident F-117s (and perhaps other planes, I don't know) did not have their routes reported to UN AFAIK. Perhaps not even to NATO. Also routes were varied instead of flying the same route every time (this was, as far as I recall, the main reason the F-117 was easy to find - paperwork requirements for reporting and approving new routes took too long). Could you please describe this "lineup thing" a bit more in detail to me?

This is who I call first hand source of my information: ps: another Hungarian nationality.

This is what I call guessing... ... and the missing knowledge of how the Neva SAM works. Why, does it run on magic? This is who I call first hand source of my information: And do you have more sources, or did you just base it all on one source?

Yes, several ones, who were there and done that in reality. (not just speculated over a keyboard) Just take your time to learn to operate these SAM's, and have fun! I'm sure, that You will learn and understand a lot more.
