Bournemouth Airshow - Friday - really bad weather, went out on a boat i was being thrashed around badly by the waves - several people were ill. i came away with bruised shins from trying to hold myself steady between the seats..
#8

#9 there were moments when you'd have an aircraft framed, hit the shutter only to have a wave hit and send your view anywhere but where the aircraft was..

#14

Saturday and Sunday were more or less cancelled, aircraft grounded made for very poor shows..

#15 - spent a couple of hours in a make shift hide getting this guy - the camera was out in the open pre-focused and i used a radio trigger to photograph when he got in the right spot

did a few portraits

Not gonna comment on all of them wink

On some of the model shots, the shadows are a bit hard for my taste. (#31 her arm...) I really like 22 and 23.

16, 17 not bad either.

The rest just shows that you are getting consistent good quality in a variety of scenes, not a bad lineup at all. First wedding is the best of them for me, but the HDR #32 doesn't work for me. Oh, and you need a bit more aircraft practice wink

Sorry mate...but there is just something creepy about photographing a funeral.

A lot of funerals are a celebration of life, not death. While there's sadness, there can be a lot of joy too. It is a bit weird, but once you see it as a big family occasion, it's a bit like a wedding -1.

Great stuff Bob, love the model shots and the socials smile

Nice images, the 'star' of #10 didn't look that small today, well, not on the outside anyhow - kind of like a reverse tardis!! wink
It's nice to see shots of other events too, the stark contrast between the wedding and funeral. You've captured expressions of love in both fun and grief.

There's just too many to get into much detailed commentary, so I'll just say they look very good, and show your talent well.

thanks for the comments guys smile

Scott: I was asked to help cover the little girls holy communion because she had cancer and hadn't long to live. The official photographer blubbered the whole way though and got nothing but shaky shots frown story is on my blog > http://www.blog.rjwhetton.co.uk/post/201...March-18th.aspx

When she died, the family asked me to cover the event for them because of the photographs I had taken before. I was even asked to take photographs of her when she had been placed in her casket (not something I thought I would be doing in my lifetime) I felt very uneasy throughout the celebration day, should I take certain photographs, would they be crossing the line etc. The family were very grateful for my efforts on the day. (they have yet to ask for the casket photographs) again blogged for more information > http://www.blog.rjwhetton.co.uk/post/2010/07/24/Passing-of-Amelia.aspx

And yes I need to get more practice with aircraft, I'm hoping to get out onto Salisbury Plains again this year smile

I don't think I could have taken the photos. Seeing the photos and reading your blog posts was hard enough.
