"Home is where the heart war is."

Looking forward to this title. Basically, Red Dawn for the PC. (Homefront is set in a near future America in 2027 when a now-nuclear armed Korean People's Army invades the USA. The game is written by John Milius, who co-wrote Apocalypse Now and wrote Red Dawn.)

The multiplayer component of Homefront is focused on large-scale vehicle based combat reminiscent of Kaos' first title, Frontlines: Fuel of War. The defining innovation of Homefront MP is its battle points system, which is an in-game currency that allows player to purchase weapons, gear and vehicles. Players earn points by taking objectives and getting kills and are forced to choose between many small purchases versus larger big ticket items like helicopters and tanks. It has been confirmed that the multi-player will support up to 32 players in one match, with 16 players on each team.

Yeah, this does look fun. Seems to have the team attitude and class orientation and squad mechanics from BFBC2, the wicked perks of COD, and some new stuff like the Battle Commander and the way you choose what perks and extras to carry into battle.

Preordered from D2D with their 20% off code "hailtothechief". (US only I would assume but who knows). Unfortunately I get hit with tax but it was still only $43.11.

You get Metro 2033 as well which, so far anyway, is a very pretty post-apocalyptic Doom 3 with a little bit less of the suck. Seems like a decent story (based on a novel after all) and the setting is frigging AWESOME. Each little safe section really seems to be alive.

** Oh. I wanted to mention that I thought Frontlines: Fuels of Suck was awful but these guys did DC for BF1942 so I have high hopes for Homefront. Plus, you know, it looks totally bad ass.

As feared it's a COD clone in SP going on that video. Even though I really liked Fuel of War in MP I'm holding off on this as I can see it bombing as the MP won't COD enough for the fan bois lol.

I don't like SP either, but it clearly shows you what horrible animations and Duke Nukemish blood spray/splatter it has.

Only 32 players? lol Even BF2 in 2005 had 64 players and the PR mod now has 64+ players. RO2 will include 64 players. Il2: COD will have 128. PS3's MAG has 100 something. Don't get me started on all the MMO's that literally have 30k players online.
