Thank you!

Gremlin, I just recently registered at The Aerodrome just to ask one single question. I do not deal in WW1 exclusively so it's more a side item for me and I don't need all that specific information.

I know how much effort and work goes into running a site like yours, but I simple do not want to manage multiple accounts on multiple sites and these days it seems everytime I need a file from somewhere (not just RoF) someone wants a registration from me. I recently tried to sign up at Skunkworks/Capun to maybe download his Pfalz D.III for FE2, and I didn't even get an "approval email".

I'm sorry if I came across as harsh, but I'm simple tired of having everything spread out over multiple sites and logins. SimHQ always used to be my one-stop shop for all things flightsim related, but with RoF the bits and parts are all over the web, which I find a slight bother. No disrespect towards your site, I just didn't understand why the previous download was anonymous and now requires a login.

Pat, It's only since using v7 that I've had this issue. It wasn't there before and it does clutter up the map somewhat. To clarify, it's not the icons that are the issue, it's the black text 'Way point' at every waypoint.

Weird enough, before reciving your mail with v7.0 today, I flew a mission in a 6.1 or whatever I had installed campaign. And I had the "WAYPOINT" text next to each. I never noticed it before either, but today it struck me after the discussion here.

Maybe we're mixing up a v1.016 game update effect with the v7.0 campaign?

Something else that's weird though: Even before editing my startup.cfg today, the game started dropping .mlg files into "C:\Games\Rise of Flight\data\FlightLogs\MyUserName\"

I'm sure it's not related to the campaign either. The parameter for binary logs is set to 0 in startup.cfg and still it does create those?

Oh, and as for v7.0 improvements: Bloody brilliant done, Pat!

The automatic reporting makes it so much more immersive, both because I can stop using the external camera to "spy" on my wingmen (for which I always had to pause the game) and also because it now feels that everything you do in flight really counts, and also what your wingmen do does count for them. Until now, handing out AI kills to wingmen was more of a "best guess" effort.

For those who asked - the generator does delete the text files from RoF\Data directory after parsing. Nice and clean.

I have a question about the PW-CGv7.0 Configuration Page setup. We have a new field "Automatic Mission Results Directory". Where do I point this, where is the mission results directory? I am getting Dialog Message "No Mission results directory specified" when I attempt to generate an automatic report after the mission.

First you must enable logging in the RoF/data/startup.cfg = mission_text_log = 1

But, guess what? I did that and I get a different error message; "No results generated for this mission" - or something like that. And I was careful to exit properly. Anyone else get this?

You guys need a better way of hosting this thing. First you have to sign up for the forums, which took me about 6 tries to get a validation image I could read well enough to get correct, and then you have to wait a day for someone to get around to approving your registration before you can download the file. Why couldn't you put it on the main page like version 6?

While I appreciate the effort involved in creating this free program, having to jump through so many hoops for it is nearly enough to put me off trying it. darkcloud

As well as the startup.cfg edit you must also point to the RoF/data folder in the PW-CG configuration menu under "Automatic Mission Results Directory"

Be aware though that any other missions flown eg using QMB will also generate txt files in the RoF\data folder. Pat's generator deletes the files it uses when its finished with them but other files are left in place so a manual delete may be necessary to keep things tidy.

Thanks Barkhorn and Whiskey. That did the trick!

Now then, where is the missions report history maintained?
