But back on topic. Can it snow in RoF. I know there is a snow setting in ME, but have never had a mission with snow!

What is the set temperature it needs to be slightly above freezing with the Latent Heat

As noted above, you need to set it in the ME not the QMB...

Small point of total pedantry. A Central plane with English writing? Would love to see it in German with German Gothic lettering.

I didn't even know there was a setting in the ME and I haven't flown lots of career missions either, but I have never seen snow in any mission I've flown. Have to try and check it out sometime.

I just pick a winter map in the QMB, set it for 'thunderstorm,' and watch the snow fly...

Never tried that! I guess it's because I never thought of flying in that kind of weather (and I rarely pick winter maps in the QMB) as being too realistic. Have to try it out now.



Freycinet, I don't think it's so much an issue of being "difficult" as opposed to just not knowing about it, at least in my case. The original poster also mentioned that he tried it and it didn't work for him and that's why he asked. I'm curious why it didn't for him and what he did/didn't select that made it not happen as it looked like he selected what you said needs to be done.

Well I just ran into the house for lunch and decided to give this a go. Time 15:00, Clouds 2000m, Slight Wind, and Thunderstorm setting and all I get is rain on all the QMB winter maps. Can this relate to Post Effects and HDR and Raindrops being checked perchance? I'm curious now as to what settings you guys who see snow are using both within the QMB (if it's anything more than just selecting Thunderstorm) and your graphical settings within the game. Didn't have enough time to test further... Thanks!

Winter and (either precipitation or thunderstorm) and then (precipitation type = Snow) should do it Av, see below for settings and evidence. Very pretty Andrew Wyeth type snow flurries I'd say

As Ming has indicated, you need to use the ME to set snow. Currently in the QMB there is no snow option.

Thanks Ming & Oesaau! I thought I was going nuts! After reading Gunloon and Freycinet's posts saying they get it to work in the QMB (do they have a different game than the rest of us?) I thought there must be some secret setting. I'm not into the ME as I just don't have the time to delve into it, I much rather fly than muck around editing and creating missions. It's no biggie for me but hearing that it was there and not having ever seen it I thought it would be cool to try in the QMB but alas... never believe everything you read on the internet. S!
