I'm just going to post all of my new videos, regardless of what game or sim it's from, right here in this thread. Over Flanders Fields, Rise of Flight, Wings of Prey, Oblivion, Rift...whatever...I'm going to dump all future ones here. Hope nobody minds but it just makes it easier for me. Here's a few new ones to start the fun. Don't forget to watch them in 1080HD mode for best quality.
Fokker DR1 vs 5 Sopwith Camels (RoF) (5:30) 1080HD - in the middle of your basic hornets nest of angry Sopwith Camels
Trio of 109s vs single Spitfire MkII (WoP) (3:15) 1080HD - some pretty good close plane to plane combat + my engine conks out instantly after the last kill for a deadstick landing
Buzzing a Bomber (RoF) (1:17) 1080HD - multi-pass attacks of my Spad XIII against a Gotha
Lucky Strikes (RoF) (0:44) 1080HD - Shooting down a Gotha Bomber in a single pass - I must have hit a bomb or fuel tank, I presume.
It's taken a long time but I'm finally enjoying Rise of Flight with all the work 777 Studios has put into it. The Fokker DR1 in RoF handles almost exactly like the Sopwith Triplane in OFF. DR1 is definatly my favorite plane in RoF, however the Spad XIII and the entire Albatros line all seem to be tough little fighters that are enjoyable to fly.

Your flying and shooting looks ecxellent, Hellshade! I tried a mission or two in RoF, after a big intermission in OFF and my flying was all wobbly, not to mention my shooting...

First off, the title is misleading. It should really be 8 kills, 1 assist and 1 apparent suicide - but RoF credited me with 10 so whatever.
Second, I had the AI set to Random, however I highly suspect that it selected Novice for most of the opponents. Once I got them down low they didn't seem to have the ability to manuever much past circling left or right. That all said, I was still pretty happy to be able to get that many EA down with limited rounds and ammo.
I have a loooong ways to go before I get good at RoF and I'm sure I'd have my arse handed to me in a heartbeat in multiplayer mode, but I certainly am enjoying the learning process. At any rate, here's the video - without any in game commentary - because I was flying late at night while she was sleeping and my computer is in the bedroom.

That "suicide" was a legitimate kill. He got scared and flew into the ground.
Though, your wingman shooting you was all on you, man. You flew between him and his kill. I shoot all kill stealers!

I have to agree with you Razor. I got greedy and my wingman let me know it. I got what I deserved.
Here's a fun 5 v 1 of Nieuport 11s vs my lone Albatros DII. If you watch closely, you can see another Entente pilot suicide himself, this time straight into a building. I'm guessing that's where the Commanding Officer that denied his last 3 claims lives.
Anyways those N11s were fairly aggressive even once we got down on the deck.

That newest one reminds me of an episode of DOGFIGHTS.
This sim looks great... I really need to figure out a way to be able to play this. I feel like I am missing out big time.

Some of these little bastards are still dangerous even after you just killed them. I guess they are so patriotic that they can a way to lash out at you even from beyond the grave.

I've been playing in every one of the Rift: Planes of Telara MMO Betas and I must say that the game is polished and is rock solid...even as a Beta! The world looks beautiful, the number of class combinations you can create is staggering and the entire experience is just plain damn fun. Obviously the link below isn't of videos I created. Rather than risk getting into any kind of trouble making my own Rift video, I figured I'd just post the link to the video media section of the Official Website. If you are into MMOs and looking for something that's easy to learn, hard to master and full of variety and possibilities, I highly recommend getting into the next Beta, which will be the first Open Beta, starting on Feb 15th.
The CG video of course looks stunning, but even the in game footage of the "PvP", "Build Your Own Warrior" and "Dungeon Raid" videos is quite impressive. I hope you take the time to check it out for yourself. There's quite a few videos to watch. Enjoy

Here are some mostly noobie zone clips of Rift: Planes of Telara Beta. There are 4 archtype classes (Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Cleric) and each archtype has 8 souls (sub-classes) to choose from. You get to choose up to 3 different souls within your archtype to mix and match however you wish and distribute points into. You can also have 4 different "roles" of any combination of those 3 classes. So you can make a PvP role, Soloing role, Raiding role, etc. There are too many possibilities to really convey, but anyways heres a quick video clip showing a tiny fraction of what the game is like.
Like I said, most of the clips are from the noobie zone with level 1 - 3 characters, so not a lot of special skills to show off except for the last clip with my level 18 Mage. He's an Elementalist / Stormcaller / Dominator combo. Great crowd control, pets, high powered nukes and even fast mana regen.

So what exactly is a "Rift"? It's a tear in the fabric of the planes that allows creatures of one of the other six planes of existance (earth, air, fire, water, life and death) to invade Telara. When players encounter a tear, they can open it up and try to stop the invading creatures which come in increasingly difficult waves. Sometimes the creatures just form a foothold and stay in a relatively small area where the Rift first opened. Other times, they form an invasion and literally take off down the road towards towns and villages attacking everything that gets in their way.
If you are thinking an MMO rift must be some kind of "lolz, I spawn monsters" cheezy thing, you're in for quite a treat. In the video, I open a Rift with my Ranger / Bard / Bladedancer character and other players come to try and help me close it. After initially doing well, I get my ass handed to me and the Fire Rift monsters break out of their foothold and head on down the road towards a town (later, killing Quest NPCs, the little bastards).
By the way, I have been in every one of the Beta events and this game is polished and stable already. It also runs very smooth despite all the detail in it.

My brother has been playing that MMO beta too and he keeps telling me how awesome it is. I have no interest in paying for an MMO (LOTRO ruined that) but it does look pretty.

I can appreciate not wishing to pay for an MMO. So many are Free to Play microtransactions now, but you might want to attend the Open Beta starting on the 15th just to get a feel for what it's like. Don't form an opinion in the first hour of the game. Otherwise you'll say "Oh, it's just like WoW or it's just like Warhammer Online." It's not. The interface is similar, as are the public quests, but Rift is it's own game taking the best features of the best games out there and improving on them, while adding it's own unique twists like the huge choice in multi-class system where you design your own class.
It's possible to be a Rogue tank and succeed, for instance. Cleric sub-classes are some of the toughest ones out there, able to go toe to toe with multiple non-elites and shrug it off easily. You could make a Paladin with a Beastmaster pet at your side and mix that with a Void knight to be able to boost your resistance to magic and even turn it against your enemies. 8 souls per archtype, 9 if you include the PvP specific soul you can earn through Warfronts action.
It's familiar, but different. Beautiful, stable and a lot of variety all wrapped into one. If you have the time, try the next Beta. I unsubscribed from WoW the first time they took the Rift Beta server down to patch it during the first Beta event. It's that fun. Hell, even my wife wants to subscribe once it comes out. She's already addicted.
Ok so I started a Cleric with Inquisitor, Warden and Sentinal souls and got him up to level 22 in the last Beta event. He's got some damn good survivability. Here is a short clip of him opening up a Tear and fighting off the first stage of a Death Rift solo. I thought I was dead for sure when they all bum rushed me but he fought back with some serious grit.

Ok so obviously I have been playing the hell out of Rift: Planes of Telara since Beta 1 and I've been full throttle with it since Head Start began. But back into the cockpit I go for a total change of pace. Just me in my trusty Spitefire Mk II vs a trio of very upset and acrobatic Bf 109s. Word has it that the developer announced they are indeed working on a sequel to Wings of Prey and that they intend to address many of the concerns voiced by the community. I can't wait!

I use FRAPS to record my videos, but I have a Veloci Raptor 10k hard drive and some other fairly good gear. If you find FRAPS is killing your framerate as you try to play, you might wish to try http://www.wegame.com/
I haven't really used it myself and I can't attest to the quality but it's supposed to not stress out your rig out while recording. FRAPS records every pixel as it happens and doesn't have time to compress it, so it writes about 3.9GB of data to your hard drive almost every minute or two, depending on the game. If that's also the same drive it's trying to read the game off of while you are playing and recording, there's often going to be some performance issues sir. Hope that helps.

Could you tell me what controllers you are using. They seem to be much more stable in RoF than my X45s. Great vids! Really enjoy watching. BadBud www.simflite.com
Hellshade, may I ask your settingins? My ROF looks nice but a bit bleached out. I like how blue your sky is and green the ground is.

My Albatros DII against a flight of Nieuport 11cs. I was doing quite well, until I sawed off the lower right wing of the lone beige N11 - but rather than crashing - he kept on flying. 30 seconds later, when I had turned my attention elsewhere figuring he was going to just crash, he circles around and takes shots at me! I pursue him and, when I get up close, get a shot off that makes him blow up spectacularly right in my face. I guess he really wanted to take me down no matter what.

The following video is entirely of one mission, edited down to fit the length of the music peice. I chose a song that, at least superficially, fit the bill. If you enjoy the music, please purchase a legal copy of the song. Let me know if you like the videos better with music, if you please. Even just a thumbs up or thumbs down. Thanks guys.

I decided to start a Career Sopwith Pup pilot in Rise of Flight. His first mission was to head out with his squadron and go Balloon Busting. Flak and enemy fighters covered the target, as expected.

Out over no mans land we ran into an enemy patrol. When I finally latched onto one huns six, I poured rounds into him like mad from very close distance. The little #%&*$# refused to die! In the end, my own poor flying caused me to stall out at low level and he escaped.

Your gunnery skills are very good, but I do wonder what enemy skill level you are flying againt? You create the same kind of quick missions that I do (and enjoy), except I have to limit the planes to about fifteen. I fly against aces using unlimited fuel and ammo. It seems that your victims seem to be less that aces..... nor do they have to be. Please correct me if I am wrong. It is not my intent to deminish your great flying and victories. Just a wonder on my part. Your vids are great and I have watched them a couple of times each. I wish that I could make vids for publication as you, but with my old rig FPS goes to pot using the programs to do so. Keep the vids coming: really enjoy your flying skills and vids.
Sorry I didn't see this post so long ago BadBud. I didn't mean to ignore ya! Usually I fly on Aces, but sometimes I set them on Random too just for the variation in flying skills. I use limited ammo almost exclusively however I tend to cheat on Career Missions and give myself unlimited fuel. No offense taken to the questions at all. But to be fair, I seem to do extremely well against the AI in most sims and when I happen to fly against live players in Wings of Prey, I either do OK or I get my butt handed to me.
I haven't been flying much of anything since Skyrim came out. I've been working on my stealthy Wood Elf Archer, who enjoys assassinating people from the distance in the shadows. I'm eagerly awaiting the next iteration of Over Flanders Fields (Phase 4) which I hope will be out within a few months but no word from the Devs yet on a release date. I'm also waiting on the next version of Wings of Prey and whatever big updates hit Rise of Flight. Until any of those things happen, I'm happily sneaking through the woods, old forts, dungeons and any other dangerous place I can find in search of gold and magical items!
Hope all is well in your world.
