I remember clearly, in the summer of my 18th year, I saw a guy get electrocuted at work. They gave everybody the day off and sent us home. He and I were friends, not close, but friends. I was stunned by what I had seen, and it happened right in front of me.

On the way home, I picked an eight track up at random and plugged it in.

This is what played

I have tons of oldies, starting with Berry and Haley and the Comets (actually probably have a few older ones too) all the way up until they stop being "oldies" and become "classic rock". smile

When I was in HS, I didn't listen to "contemporary" (late 80s) music much at all, I listened to few things done after 1975. It wasn't until college when I got into alternative music and also listened to some late 70s stuff like Floyd and Zeppelin.

Anyway, I regularly talk to people who grew up listening to that music who don't know as much about it as I do!

That's probably because the early stage Alzheimer's has already kicked in!

Not necessarily. I know there are a lot of people who know more about 80s music than I do, and I grew up with it!

A few years before my time, but still a personal favorite.

Could post the soundtrack from the Big Chill too, but I'll just go with this favorite:
