I got these used. I just want to set them up for flight ( they are not) . There must be a more simple set up for flight with these than the use of PM etc. Other user reviews state they PNP and flew them. Other users must have gone through this same thing- Does W7 not have the correct drivers? how do you set these pedals for rudder? thank you- I will remember you in my will

And therein lies the rub, from what I see, I cannot assign the axes for ROF, in the game without the CH-PM. When I PNP these in my PC and go into ROF, the pedals are now controlling all flight surfaces except the rudder. So the previous owner reassigned the control axes with the CM? If thats so, if I just buy new CH pedals will I have to go through CM anyway to get these to work as rudder?

Thank You A:
I realize its a constant litany of WAH! if loading CM is not required to have these act as rudder control- then as you say it's a ROF axes matter and CH cant help me, your last sentences may be the answer I have sought. This is like 'wheres waldo?' or 'everyone point to the right' You end up loading unessential software on your PC and that often creates another set of problems. I will harrass the ROF people for thier version, I do appreciate the patience and information from everyone

I know that CM is a powerful tool, and mastering it could probably enhance my CH controller experience, but I hardly ever use it.
I have sims like IL2, the Third Wire series, the Lock-Ons, DCS: Black Shark and A-10, Falcon 4: Allied Force, Gunship! and even Mechwarrior, and the only times I use CM is for older games that don't support multiple controllers, and F4:AF because I want as much of an F-16-like layout as I can get.
For the rest, I just assign the axises I want within the sim's config and it has always worked.

I contacted ROF support but I have already tried thier suggestions. All the steps I tried did not produce the desired function. With all the people who fly this sim with pedals one has to have a step by step for the " dummie"
thank you for all your efforts!

Well, I was able to download the demo. I did not use Control Manager to assign any axes. I simply left them as a PNP device. I went into the Options menu of the game, Controls, looked for YAW, Pitch, and Roll. I clicked on the assignable axes, in the game, waited for the pop up to pop, moved the axes that I wanted to assign until the assignment was made. I then saved what I had done and went flying. Done. It's that easy.

Per the documentation provided: 4. Setting Joystick and Key Commands To access your joystick and keyboard settings in ROF, click on the Options button on the main screen. There you will find several tabs that you can click on to open up your programmable key commands and your joystick responses as well as your gameplay difficulty settings
4.1 Control Settings and Input Profiles To properly control your aircraft in Rise of Flight you will need to set up your Input Profile. All information about your control input preferences are stored in Input Control files called .maps. The number of Input Profiles is unlimited, you can create different configurations depending preferred devices or unique characteristics of each aircraft. You should save a new Input Profile each time you make changes. All changes must be saved or they will not be applied when you fly next. Note: Input Profiles can be shared between users. You can find these files in your installation folder ... \ <Game_Folder> \ Rise of Flight \ data \ input. The files have the format *. map Note: Also in the folder with the profiles you can find detailed instructions on configuring the view system for Rise of Flight in several major languages (English, German, French, Russian, Spanish) The location of the file is ... \ <Game_Folder> \ Rise of Flight \ data \ input \ ROF_view_system_eng.htm

Have you checked the pedals in the control panel to make sure they work? Do you have any other sims to try them on? Maybe the USB port they're in is bad or something.
It just seems like you'd want to know what's not working before spending more money on replacement pedals and potentially end up with the same issue.
If they work in everything except for ROF, it seems like it must be a ROF issue and buying a new set may not help. If they don't work in anything then they're most likely broken and you might be able to get them fixed by CH for less than a new set, if you're willing to wait for the repair.

Pardon my testy bad manners, the CH stick is a god send however I cant do anything but bob when on target!
I dont have another sim but I was able to use the 'reset to defaults' option, when I tried to calibrate the pedals they were treated asa stick even though the window said ' pedals' I will try every other suggestion you gave. I dont understand why ( if these are good) does my flight surfaces ( F2) go beserk when windows loads the drivers initialy Either the pedals are bad or they conflict with every other controller and the settings in ROF. Thats why my lip over the PNP - it doesnt work that way when I do it. Honestly I am ready to just bite the bullet and buy new

they calibrate in CM but when installed into ROF after drivers load I look at the aircraft, ingame, external view(F2) and- without touching a thing- all control surfaces are out of alignment. I am repeating myself, if you were to try and fly like this you would never get off tye ground. The pedals say they have been calibrated but obviously conflict with every other device. This ROF was first written with a keyboard assigned and a Saitek Evo assigned so all your ' controls/responses are already assigned. The games paperwork tells you that when you look at it. I think if I bury these pedals in the back yard with a statue of the VM over them they stand as good a chance of working as any Ive seen. Thank you all for your time and expertise, FYI that last link to CH Mikes thread- the interface doesnt look like that any more, at least mine doesnt and I installed my first copy of ROF a year before I installed ICE

You may be right, both Saitek and CH have their fair share of problems and customer complaints. I will buy a new set of pedals and then Ill know
