Hi kids!
I've just finished this little tiddler off. It's a cracking little kit, with some issues such as faint panel lines on the underside and soft plastic. I've added the NeoMega cockpit set (furnished with Mike Grant jet instrument decals), and dropped the flaps and airbrakes to show a typical 326 at rest. Markings are from the box, representing 1st Esquadrilla de Ataque of the Argentine Navy in 1970.

I have to thank Giorgio N at Britmodeller for lots of help with references for the cockpit, and helping to try and work out just where some of the NeoMega stuff fits!

Build thread.

I hope you like it!

Thanks for looking,
Gareth

Spectacular! I love your painting and weathering style. Looks very "right" to me.

Gotta dig all my modelling gear up from the basement, it's been ages since I last built a model! I have a Tamiya 1/48 Swordfish in progress, and several other kits in the waiting stash.

Amazing detail, especially for 1:48

Would you care to share a few details?

1) How did you do the weathering and those nice subtle dark panel lines/rivets?

2) Where'd ya get the "Remove before Flight" tapes? This seems like an excellent addition for my "parked" jet models.

I'll be very happy if my models come out half as decent.

Hi gang, thanks for your generous comements.

Colonel, the weathering and panel lines are basically a combination of pre-shading before the main colour goes on, and Promodeller weathering washes. I used the Concrete colour on the white, and a colour I mixed from Dark and Light Dirt colours. The trick with Promodellers is to use a colour lighter than you need, as matt varnish will darken it a little. I then added some streaks with Tamiya weathering powders (The stuff that comes in what is effectively an eye shadow box.) I fixed the build thread link so you can see some pics of the process.

The panels are so fine due to the lovely moulding of the kit. They really are very subtley done, and a highlight of the kit.

The RBF tags are from Eduard, and they do them in the three 'main' scales. They are photo etched metal, so you can add a little animation to them.

Thanks again all!

My character somehow got all twisted up. I was playing the mission where you have to infiltrate the Golden Glow Estate and do multiple things. When I was out burning beehives and fighting I just eventually ran away to view my success from a distance. I first noticed it when I squated down on a tree trunk. Coot..the squatter../simHQ/2011

WOW! thumbsup

I thought I was good at modelling when I was around 17 years old, but what is shown here on this board is simply stunning.

Thanks for the further comments everyone. I entered it in my first competition at the Huddersfield show a few weeks ago. I was very pleased to win my class.
