Cody put together a really nice video of the TacPack on some incredibly short notice, so we hope you enjoy it.

That's incredible. It's what FSX has been crying out for. This could be so much fun even if it's just the eventual generic add-on to third party planes. FSX will never be the same again !!

This looks amazing!
So what does one need to run this? (my apologies, I'm new around here and have never owned FSX)
Presumably I'll need a copy of the latest flight simulator X, and this is a downloaded ad-on?
Does FSX require several "mods" to run something like this?

Thanks in advance

Saw that first plane explode and went 'Oh S**t!'

This is awesome. Might actually buy FSX now.

Just a normal copy of FSX patched to SP2 and (for now) their SuperHornet to which you add this pack on to make the weapons system live.

The weapons system and destruction is a separate program but integrated specific to the SuperHornet to look like it's a full combat sim etc. In the future they will make a generic add-on to arm any or most combat planes you have whether they made it or not. So your Typhoon for example would be able to do the same thing but the weapons system may not be exactly as it is on the real plane but enough fire at planes/ground just the same.

Does it come with missions or a campaign?

I am installing FSX Gold tonight to get ready for this.

Weapons:

Single and multi-player operation.
Initially released specifically for the VRS Superbug, with third-party aircraft support to follow in later releases.
Lethal (to both aircraft and simobjects) weapons simulation for all the current systems carried by the VRS Superbug, with all associated avionic displays:

M-61A1 20mm Gatling Gun
AIM-9X “Sidewinder”
AIM-9M “Sidewinder”
AIM-7 “Sparrow”
AIM-120 AMRAAM
AGM-65E “Laser Maverick”
AGM-84D “Harpoon”
AGM-84H SLAM-ER
AGM-154A JTOW
AGM-88C HARM
GBU-10 “Paveway II”
GBU-12 (singles or pairs)
GBU-31 JDAM

Realistic weapon ranges and maneuvering performance (dependent on engagement geometry).
As with the classic Superbug, any one of thousands of combinations of ordinance can be loaded, and the weight and drag of the weapon is simulated on the airframe and removed after launch.
Weapons are positioned on and fire from individual stations, not a generic aircraft centroid.
All systems work in FREE FLIGHT and do not require scripted missions.
Destructable objects include ships, aircraft, ground vehicles and sim-object structures. If it's a simobject, you can lock it up and kill it.
