Really nice, thanks Darren.

Now you have to do one before each race of the series wink

Cheers!

Indeed, great job on the video. Watching lead me to find my problem with spinning. As I compared the video to my fastest lap (a 1:31) I found that for some reason I have been feathering the throttle through the slow corners instead of coasting in. I thought I was, but subconsciously for some reason I got on the throttle too early.

Aside from that, can anyone help me set up MOTEC one of these nights?

Setting up Motec would be a good sticky to have here actually.

It would also be nice to collaborate on a Motec Project file that we can all use and tweak over time.

Hopefully some of you will find it useful.

Good to have a few setups to try. The one I posted was a definite "stable" version. Not a bad thing, but not the fastest possible setup either.
This mod seems to be one that forces a setup with lots of understeer to avoid snap oversteer - "Auto-Spin".

On the fuel: I wonder if the previous fixed setup, with zero pitstops called for and N/A fuel settings for pitstops, was causing my rFactor installation to call up some pitstop fuel numbers... from somewhere.

In races where a pitstop is optional, and no additional fuel is required, having the fixed setup call for 1 pitstop, with 0 set for fuel, might work without the issues I was seeing -- something to try later anyway.

At A1-Ring, full fuel reads out at 26 laps. For a fixed-fuel setup, suggest having 1 pitstop set with 5 (or so) laps worth of fuel, to give a little cushion; or open fuel settings.

I'm stumped... I've been doing short runs at the A1 ring until today, no more then 3 laps while trying to make a better set up to learn the cars around the track... Today I tried out Papa Ks and Chunx set up but I can't comment on either because I spent most of my time turning down the graphics while the track was extremely jumpy... I put everything to low, turned the shadows off, and went to trliniear instead of using anti-aliasing, and only had 6 cars visable on track.. everything I did only seem to make things worse... I also tried turning off rfdynhud, and that didn't change it either...

What is really weird is that I had a very good run at Zandvoort with the graphics...

I tried the McLaren F1 mod, 98 BTCC and V8factor afterwards and had no dramas even with the graphics at full, anti-aliasing x2 and 13 cars visable...

I then tried out Brands, Ricard and norisring to see if for some reason it was the carset... And had no problems at all...

I'm running XP, 8 GB DDR3 ram, AMD phenomenon II quad core, with a Nvidia Geforce 440 1GB graphics card...

just did a 3 lap test, the first 2 it worked the best it has all day at 60-63 FPS, then as I approached the final corner it started dropping and got jumpy, it went down to 51 while I was cornering, and then 27 down the straight... then accelerating out of the 4th corner it dropped to 21... It wasn't consistently at those frame rates, as it jumped all over the place...

I've also tried reinstalling the track but that did nothing...

After somewhat of a last minute 'fuel' panic before the Zandvoort race we managed to confirm that this does indeed work. Unfortunately it was too late in the day to make the change in time for that event. I would suspect we'll see this set to 3 stops @ 0L in the 'official' A1 setup.
