Oh that was embarrassing. I'll either practice for A1-Ring or not drive. Trying to rely only on night before practice didn't seem to work for some odd reason.

lol no problem whatsoever. Errant cars won't be a problem here - plenty of decent run off and no launchpad verges smile

Well, i'm thinking if a driver does not show up for race day then they should get a -1 point.

An update on the A1-Ring pits. Ahmad has graciously said he would assist in editing it for a minimum of 35 cars. Very nice of him considering he is not running the series. We can use the current version for practice then the track file (the AIW file?) can be made available later.

Looks like currently, there's only 13 designated pit stalls and IIRC, one of those is for the pace car....might be something we have to watch in the practice races.

I've been having a problem with these cars in my practice. No matter how light I am on the throttle I seem to spin every time I exit a slow corner (Turns 3 and 4 specifically). I've tried changing my throttle sensitivity in rfactor throughout the spectrum, but it seems no matter how much I feather the throttle out of the corner I spin at least once every four laps. Any tips for this rookie?

Was that with the default setup?

For A-1 Ring, while we wait for a fixed setup, try this one:

It's not a finished setup, but it's a start.

I have that trouble as well, and it's more pronounced at the A1-Ring so far that I've noticed, no matter what I do with the set up...

The easiest way I've found to stop it with these cars is to be in a higher gear or change up a lot earlier in the rev range... I find 3rd a lot easier to accelerate in but you loose some cornering ability by not being in 2nd... I'd suggest trying changing up before the supercharger kicks in... I'm sure the others would come up with some better advice though...

Apart from the fact it understeers like a pig, i don't find the default too bad actually. But i'll give that one a try thx PK. I know P&P are working hard on a new setup, hopefully we should have the first revision of that soon.

Ekempey, A proper setup will help you a bit you need to be VERY patient with the corners here. Brake early and slow down waaay more than you think (a couple of them are almost done at a standstil) Hold the car on low throttle and don't try to apply more power until you are well clear of the apex. This is particulary crucial at T4 as it's a very tight apex but the opening exit tempts you into getting on the power earlier than is safe. With most tracks the aim is to get on the power as early as possible but you can't attack this circuit like that. The elevation and camber changes mean the car is unsettled through a lot of the corners. It feels frustrating at first as you literally crawl round but after a few sessions you will learn to spot the safe braking and accelleration pionts and it becomes very addictive to drive. This is one of those tracks that dares you into trying to go faster then bites you in the arse when you try smile

EDIT: Pumbaa is right about the gearing, I do all the tight corners in 2nd, you could try 3rd but you will lose a lot of the engine braking benefit and it will also compromise you acceleration speed on exit. You certainly shouldn't be in 1st (i dunno if you are) as that's asking for trouble in these cars.

I've been working on one myself, but I'm not happy with it, too much push in the middle of the lap and snap oversteer... But I can manage a 1:28.4 with it when I don't stuff it up too badly...

Seeing as you guys enjoyed the last one, here's another fast lap vid for this tricky little circuit. Using the Merc with default setup. 3 laps into the run. Laptime 1:27:324

Hopefully some of you will find it useful.

Enjoy smile
