Looks nice, but the video adds nothing. It mainly just shows IL2 on a projector and "UDP Speed" gauges on an LCD in the pit.

I wonder how many potential buyers there are out there for a product like that?

I would certainly have considered it before I embarked down the DIY route.

Thats one heck of a deal for you guys over in Europe. Wish we could get something like that over here in the US in the $500 USD range...yes I know its in pounds and that is higher but still that is a good price point.

Wow these new products never cease to amaze. Great pre-built kit for those across the pond.

Those are very nice pits.

In my opinion 500 pounds is a pretty steep price, that's just my opinion though. For anyone who has some skill with woodworking or even some basic knowledge, I'd think you could design and build your own for a fraction of that cost. It will take lots of time however, but a DIY person could probably make something just as good.

LOL Yeah that's a great price for a piece of kit like that. Sure if you have the skills you "could" build it yourself, but a ready to go kit like this would save you a lot of headache not to mention time. If you have the skills to build this kind of pit then you're "not" a potential customer anyways. Be great to see more kits like this though, especially here in the States.

Hello all,

New to this forum but this post has kindof answered my prayers. This is exactly what I was looking for. So thanks for postin it.

I'm currently trying to contact these guys but can't seem to get any response. Would love to know if they'd ship to here in Louisiana.
I'd buy one tomorrow!

That looks alot like Gene's DIY setup. It would be pretty easy to design one and run on my CNC...I might just for kicks. It really isnt any different than creating and cutting parts to build my 1/4 and 1/3 scale R/C planes. As a matter of fact the parts look exactly alike. I have been thinking of doing the same thing for F-16 and A-10 pits.

I met these chaps at SummerSim 2010 last October where they had 4 of running a networked game of of something, very nice folks. The kits seemed solid.

Still not able to get in touch with them. Called this morning (5pm UK) & got the machine.

Maybe they'll answer the FB post or email. I'm chomping at the bit on this one!

The reason I never offered a kit of the Series One is the amount of time it takes to cut the components and the costs to ship it. At a price I could sell it, I'd be in the hole on each one. smile

Although the cut time may be a lot shorter now - I've been experimenting with cutting at high feed rates. The last two sheets of parts for the collimating mirror project were run at 4 inches/sec.

Sorry Wild Bill, (and anybody else who has tried to make contact) I have just been directed to this thread. Check your PM mate. It would seem that the email redirect on the web page is no longer functioning. It used to....weird!

Disagree with you Gene.

I know I'm in the market for a kit as that's all the time I can devote to it. I've read the "so you know what you're getting into" portion. I'd love to give it a whirl but working 24 shifts as a fireman, with another part time job & being a new father I'm scared I'd get started & put the thing on hold way to much to even justify getting started in the first place. Afraid it would just be taking up a parking spot in my garage after spending the cabbage on the materials.

A kit & a few weekends however. Oh yeah, I'm on board! I think allot of others would be too.

Simming was a passion of mine, but get benched due to life. Now I'm stuck playing "Wings of Prey" on the XBox (the reason I got an XBox) in the middle of the night & man it stinks. Just reminds me how much I've missed all the great stuff on PC. Now I've got a PC that cn handle the newer stuff on the market & am ready to try building a pit.

I still may try the Series One, depending on Creative Cockpits' ability to offer theirs here in the States. It's not a matter of craftsmanship as I've only seen pics of both & both ARE nice. It's a matter of where the hell am I going to find the time to do that, much or less purchase/borrow the tools to do it.

I'd give it a try Gene, you may surprise yourself.

Acctually no, you may not. I've read through you're things on line, it's all pretty impressive brother!
