Hi KRT_Bong, thanks for the info.

The 1946 DVD arrived earlier today and I installed it to 4.09m (plus the skin pack), and copied it to a safe location. Ultrapack 2.01 was then added and I've activated several of the mods it comes with through JSGME. Am I right in thinking they work with both HSFX and UP2.01?

So far I'm using:

Ecran Widescreen Fix (Can't get it to work with HSFX so far only UP2.01)
Swastika Enabler
ZloyPetrushko AAAmod (stop AI shooting through clouds etc.)
Tougher Bridges and Trains
Atm mod v3.1 Wind and Turb&Prop (includes prop-wash when behind planes)
Bullets Intermittent Smoke Trails
Effects High
Perfect Map Textures

Can anyone recommend other mods they use with UP2.01?

I'm running this on a laptop and with all settings on Excellent at 1680 x 1050 resolution and I have a very smooth game. I might drop it to 1440 x 900 later to see if it makes any major difference. The game and each mission loads quickly too! smile

I've only played a few quick mission builder scenarios so far; Hellcat vs Zero's, JU88's against airfields etc. etc.

By the way, can anyone remind me what the dive-siren control is for the Ju-87 Stuka? I have the airbrake configured to one of the throttle switches but I can't find the siren. I've literally tried every key combo! mycomputer

EDIT: Ignore that. I must have had a sound glitch. After restarting IL2 and playing the same early war Stuka the sound suddenly appeared.

One other thing, is there no England/Channel map in the default quick mission builder any more? I have Okinawa, Moscow, Slovakia etc. (all nice by the way!), but no UK map.

So, in a word I'm impressed with what I've seen! I've yet to do a third install up to 4.10, but that will happen in the next day or so. In the meantime I'm having a blast! clapping

I don't have TrackIR or anything similar yet so dogfighting is a bit painful, but it's not too bad for Stuka's etc.

Plus, I might attempt adding the 'Other Channel map' - the 1:1 mod I saw the other day - it looks superb!

Do you have a webcam? Facetrack

Cannon's Channel Map should be on your list.

If you have a favourite aircraft, look for a cockpit mod.

Cannon's maps are included in both HSFX and UP. You will need to install QMB+ to add any map you want to Quick Mission Builder (provided it's already installed in the game itself).

I would just wait until a 4.10 mod pack comes out.. I thought QMB plus would be rendered moot by ther changes to the QMB in 4.10.. am I wrong> From the readme I thought that you could add any mapo you want to in the QMB just by making a mission in the FMB for it..

Yes you can add extra maps to the v4.10m Daidalos Team patch. It's really just the ability to add a folder to the Quick folder that is seen by the QMB. The name of the folder doesn't matter. What does matter is how you name the templates in that folder. The new QMB is a pretty neat feature of v4.10m and the water maps no longer have a limited plane set, which I like even though it makes for some interesting landings on a carrier. biggrin

We've been brainstorming about the new QMB features at M4T for a few days. A little help about new QMB In the process I debugged the Normandy1 templates and made them work properly. The fixed Normandy1 templates are in the downloads section. QMB Template fixes


If the modders hadn't just released a new version of QMBPro 4.10m I would have agreed that the v4.10m patch would have made it obsolete. They made it work with all the old 4 x 4 flight templates and allowed you to add a new mission type or types.
