I'm not quite sure where to start with this one...
First, in the title you want us to compare FSX (released 4 years ago...) to X plane 10, which hasn't been released.
-BUT- then you provide a link to MS flight, which also hasn't been released, and is a loooooong ways off from release, as opposed to XP10, which looks to be due in 2011 (fingers crossed!). So your either ignorant of what's going on the MS flight sim franchise,
-or- made one dusey of a typo in your thread title,
-or- wanted to start a flame thread comparing apples to oranges..while using information about bananas and mangoes.
The MSFS/xplane debate will range for decades to come. The real winner will always be people like me, who own both

. I play FSX now because I like eye-candy, and becasue of the three main tasks that flying involves: aviate, navigate, communicate, MS does a great job of
illustrating the last two. It shows you how various airspace classes interact, how ATC works, and how navigation systems work. Wanna rap your mind around VOR's and how to engage with flight following, play FSX to get an idea. It still can't replace real world experience, but FSX will help cement these concepts.
To put a bow on it though, it seems the two franchises might finally see a state of symbioses. If X-plane 10 sees the light of retail this year(pretty please?), and runs well, then it will get some deserved attention due to MS flight being so far off. By the time MFS sees shelves, Xplane 11 should be well under way. If the two can leap frog, we might be lucky enough to see a fresh civy flight sim every two years
