Hi all,

I've been working on a wiki project for the DCS series of flight simulators, and I figured I'd post a link here in case anyone is interested. My goal is to create a site that fills in some of the gaps left by the game manual, and fuses real-world background information with DCS-specific knowledge and instructions (since if you understand how a system works in real-life, you're more likely to use it correctly in game). I've been focusing mostly on avionics, systems, and performance information, but my goal is that it will eventually cover basically everything you need to know in order fly the aircraft in DCS. I particularly want to create a procedures category for "how-to" information (how to create a CDU markpoint, how to use Mavericks, how to fill out a TOLD card, etc.)

I've been focusing on the A-10C to start with for two reasons - one, it's the new game that most people are playing, and two, there is a lot more quality real-world reference material for it than there is for the Black Shark. My goal though is that the site will eventually cover every DCS module, including Black Shark and any future additions. There are still some pages that are stubs or need additional expansion - in particular, the MFCD pages need a lot of work. This page on the A-10 electrical system is one I would consider to be relatively "complete".

Anyways, if you have any feedback or ideas for things which could be added or improved, I would love to hear it. You can e-mail me at chris@dcswiki.com, or message me on this forum or the Eagle Dynamics forums (same user name). Please also feel free to create an account and start updating and editing if you are interested - I am definitely looking for more people to help out.

Here's the link:

Wow, this is pretty friggin' impressive. Some Wikis are little more than placeholders, yours is a treasure trove, thank you! Highest compliment I can pay it is to create a shortcut for it alongside those for other indispensible DCS A-10 web sites on my desktop, which I have just done.

Your Wiki goes really deep; thank you so much for making all this knowledge available to us.

How about merging with the official Wiki?

http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Main_Page

Edit:- actually the official Wiki is a bit bare .....

Pretty much, and as much as I enjoy Eagle Dynamics' work, I'd rather have something under my control so I can know that I'm not putting hours and hours of work into a web site that could disappear or drastically change with no warning.

Thank you all for the kind words! I will keep working on the site and adding more content.

I've been watching your WIKI for awhile now and I have bookmarked the RSS update feeds.
I thought that you worked for ED because of how much time and effort you've gone through updating that WIKI. I can't believe you don't work for ED? You should be rewarded for your efforts.
It's a wealth of information about the A-10 and I thank you for the WIKI and all your efforts.
Thanks again.

It might be good to use the Wiki for a collaborative "open" EFA (extra flyable aircraft) project. The various parts of the mod could be on separate pages (eg. cockpit controls, hardpoints) and people could download, modify and the then repost the improved code. This way it could have more contributors with less effort to manage "who is doing what".
