I know I'm repeating myself, but from a historical-minded gameplay perspective, there is no need to discuss anything. We have a 1917-1918 mission environment that abuses HP400 and Brequet 14 instead of a true British Two-Seater. It's the most glaring fault in the entire accuracy of the RoF Late-War gameplay experience. Sadly it will not sell well and thus is possible a very small item on the dev list. I'm sure the Brisfit would be a decent seller, its good from mid 1917 onwards.

Yeah, but the BF would not quite filling the role for an RFC Arty/Recon plane, would it? I'm just trying to find out if they carried Wireless Morse transmitters or photo cameras... I was under the impression that it was mainly used for ground attack and long-range fighter patrols more than the classic two-seater jobs?

I know I've stated before that the DFW C.V and Breguet 14 will come after the Gotha. After that we do not know for sure.
Jason The Breguet 14 is such a sweet machine. It's like the Beaufighter of WW1. Did you know it was still in service in many countries until the mid 1920's?

Snipe and SSH D.III/D.IV have been requested numerous times, along with the Brisfit. So i think those planes are very likely to get release this year also. Personally I hope not, the Snipe and SS planes have next to no use in historical campaign missions. Others with a more MP focus may disagree. Here's a sensible list of aircraft posted over at the 777 boards by Feathered_IV. Be2c Fe2b Re8 Bristol Fighter Albatros CIII Roland CII Walfisch Hannover CLII Halberstadt CLII I'd add the Sopwith 1-1/2 Strutter, and a couple of scouts to the list, the much needed Spad VII and an early Fokker D (or Halberstadt D) to add 1916-1917 variety for the German side. When we've got a workable campaign then by all means add whatever aircraft takes the dev's or 3rd party model makers fancy. +1 but with a twist ... Some French planes: Farman F40 (This type flew well into 1917) Sopwith 1 1/2 (Served both French and British) Dorand AR Salmson A2A The LVG CV would be a nice German addition. We desparately need AI 2 seaters. Being realistic and in order: BE2c Farman F40 RE8 Bristol F2b Sopwith 1 1/2 Then we would at least have a historical early, mid, and late war aircraft for each nation. For scouts the SPAD VII is the only glaring need. The Farman F40 is such a good choice, scores for both numbers in service and weirdness. Its like an aircraft with a boat in the middle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:1916farman-f40-01z.jpg

Very nice - but also very long lists guys.
I'd say two scouts and two early-war two-seaters, would be more plausible for 2011 (if we're lucky).

I'm happy that so many found that list of suggested aircraft agreeable. If I could expand it slightly, I'd suggest two choices of Be2. Mid and early types, one armed with a Lewis gun, the other with a hunting rifle.

On top of that the Devs were also working on the new career mode which should be finished soon, so perhaps we might be pleasantly surprised. W.

Yeah, as you mention 8 new A/C....and a new career mode being heavily worked on. I don't think it unreasoable to expect more than 8 a year barring new features or emergency hotfixes sucking up plane development. I would expect 6 releases a year ( every 2 months) - 2 planes per release to be a reasonable expectation. Hope so. <fingers crossed>

I counted 10 in the last year or there abouts, there's a couple of double releases.
I don't think its unreasonable to expect that rate of development to continue. 777 have suggested that they've got some 3rd party development going on, Jason has hinted that they're trying to up the pace of aircraft addition. More planes = more $$$ for 777 and more fun for us punters.

I'm pretty sure the Biff squadrons did photo recon, not sure about arty spotting but it seems likely. I've read that the RAF wanted to make the Biff their standard 2 seater by mid 1918. Only engine shortages kept the army corps squadrons using the RE8. By the end of the war 1500 or so Biffs were operational.
