Folks,
Dux & MG:
We survived yet another grand family feast today. It is not only the turkey that gets stuffed at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Uuuuuurrrrrp! Pardon me fellows. Trust me bad as that sounded you do not want to be here when the baked beans, sweet potatoes and collards kick in.....
There were a lot more interesting videos about the BoB found on that website you posted MG. I enjoyed watching them all. Again, thanks for posting.
Forget about where Hitler may or may not have escaped to. I doubt either of you have seen it and I have only seen a clip of the movie "Little Nickey" myself, however, in the clip I saw it seems Der Fuhrer is not just dead he is really most sincerely dead and reposing in that very warm traditional place of Christian eternal punishment where he so richly deserves to be.
In hell, at least according to the screen writer, Adolph must wear a French maid's costume and submit daily to having a very large pineapple thrust right up his as.... rear. Ouch!
Not enough say I. IMHO for all his crimes against humanity he should at the very least be required to listen to American rap music sung by a quartet consisting of Goering, Hess, Himmler and Goebbels 24/7. Can you fellows think of other suitable penances for his many crimes?

Folks, Since the powers that be have in their infinite wisdom seen fit to move me to another page I am going to re-post our HWH Christmas card. Again, all of us at HWH wish you Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year.

JRT,
Many thanks for your email and online greeting! Olga awaits with her trusty M1891/30? - the most widely used sniper rifle in the Soviet arsenal.
I think we should increase the quartet to include Stalin, Mussolini, Pol Pot and Tojo. Plenty of scope for a full choir really!
Looks like things are due for a seasonal kick-off in the area around Korea. Many aged US Colonels and Generals still see Korea as unfinished business.

Folks, Dux: You are quite welcome. After several years running, that is now a pleasant tradition that I intend to continue. Indeed, you got it in one my friend. The Mosin-Nagant Soviet sniper rifle M1891/30; the victor of Stalingrad and Warsaw, perhaps even the Berlin Wall as well, was adopted in 1891 by Imperial Russia. Two types of scopes were available to Olga. The PU and the PE were used on these rifles. The PU was the most often used. The reliable M1891/30 remained in use after WW2. Here is another fragile photo that was being carefully preserved in that large tomato soup tin with the expanding rust spots on it carefully positioned beneath a dripping stalactite down in our HWH archives. In this photo Olga is wearing one of her many Red Army uniforms. As you know more than anyone, Olga was the darling of Stalin and therefore she moved freely between the various services. It seems that Olga was primarily Stalin's spy and a ranking member of SMERSH.

Gents, JRT, Another historic pic... Lotte Lenya as Rosa Klebb put in a convincing performance as the rather unfriendly lesbian SMERSCH agent in From Russia With Love, but how much better if Tubby had featured our very own and eminently suitable Olga in that role. Perhaps he realized the danger of her upstaging Sean in that memorable film?

Roger, many thanks for the season greetings. Here, we're in the grip of Herr Winter himself with 20 - 50 cm of snow around the country, more is promised or should that be "threatend". Personally I can't stand Herr Winter as you probably know, for all I care he can go and get himself burned to death by the luscious Mrs. Spring and scalded by delightful Miss Summer. That should teach him. Mrs. S. and Miss S. Now there's a pairing you can't beat.

Folks,
Dux:
Did Olga ever threaten to kick you in the shins with her very pointy shoes? Let me see now, where have I heard that name Lotte Lenya before? Hmmmm. Oh yes, Lotte Lenya and old Lucy Brown were both mentioned in Bobby Darrin's massive hit "Mack the Knife". Who knew she was also a celebrated actress?
As far as I know, your red headed heroine has never trodden the boards. Do you know something we avid and ever hopeful readers of the "Olga Sagas" do not? Please elaborate..... please....please....
Right about now it should be made crystal clear to our occasional readers lurking out there who may not know, that while I do a bit of writing here myself, Olga is and always has been and will always be Dux's creation and not mine. I do type a bit about Dux's wild adventures now and then and Olga is often featured in those stories. Now and then as chief HWH Archivist I may post a small artifact or item of interest associated with Olga.
Nevertheless as Olga's 'father' it must be left to Dux and not me to carry on or hopefully extend the series of adventures and misadventures that have come to be known as "The Olga Sagas". Dux's rare abilities as a chronicler and apparent knowledge of all things Russian far exceed that of mine. His wonderfully twisted, creative mind cannot be matched for producing expertly crafted and delightfully humorous phrases. I enjoy elaborating a bit on the fringes of the Olga Sagas however I quite sensibly defer to the incomparable Dux when it comes to all things Olga.

Folks,
MG:
SNOW. It seems you are coping with the season rather well. The flowing of the seasons is beyond our control and the wise (like you) just go with the flow.
It certainly sounds as if you "Lucky" Danes are in for another white Christmas. We'll be lucky if we get a single flake. Our Toronto pal C51 wrote to me yesterday saying they had just had a proper snow fall Saturday morning. I'd be willing to bet that the Peaks Dist. of good old Derbyshire will soon if not already be blanketed with the white stuff. Isn't it like men to complain about what they have when others complain about NOT having the same thing. It is a lesson in the power of perspective and point of view to create conflicting emotions.
I'll just put old Bing's recording of "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" in the CD player as we decorate our tree one night this week. Sigh....

JRT,
McG,
Olga has indeed trodden the boards in the entertainment world. Somewhere in the HWH vaults there is reference to her post war film career which included such timeless epics as The Thirtynine Steppes, The Creature That Ate The Monster, and the one that did nothing to suppress the mounting tensions during the 1962 missile crisis; I Was Stalin's Prophylactic.
Minus 17f last night which made pretty fern-like patterns on the bedroom windows this morning. Heavy snow expected any time now.

Gents, Rosa expired several years ago, broken hearted by the disappointing sales of her book. www.thespoof.com/news/spoof.cfm?headline=s3i9605
