Mine finally arrived yesterday. It's pretty sweet. However I have a couple of issues...

I thought it was supposed to be fully PNP with DCS:A-10C, but when I fire up Beta 2 it sees the stick and throttle, but all of the HOTAS assignments are blank. I wonder if I screwed something up when messing around with getting my Cougar to work in Beta 1... There doesn't seem to be a reset controls to default option anywhere...?

Also, the stick is slightly off center, (visible to the eye) resulting in a very slight roll to the right. I can't seem to find an option to center calibrate the stick in TARGET or in DCS itself under the axis tune. Anyone have any ideas? I was about to take the sick base apart to see if I could figure out why it's not returning to dead center and then thought better of it.

For your lack of plug and play do the follow:

Launch DCS:A10c, go to options / controls. Click on any line in the column "joystick HOTAS Warthog", then click "LOAD PROFILE" and navigate to " /config/input/Aircrafts/A-10C/Joystick". Select "joystick - HOTAS warthog.lua" in file list, click OK.

Do the same thing for the throttle: Click any line in the column "throttle HOTAS Warthog", click "LOAD PROFILE", the navigate to " /config/input/Aircrafts/A-10C/Joystick" and select "throttle - HOTAS warthog.lua", click OK.

If the stick is visually off center, I'd return it, without trying to take it apart yourself.

Panther: Ah, that worked perfectly, thanks! I see that's how I can configure my MFD panels as well.

Teej: It's just the tiniest bit off center, like half a degree. Upon further inspection there is actually a tiny mechanical dead zone where there is no spring resistance, which allows it to tilt over just a hair, same goes for forwards and backwards, just less noticeable I guess since I'm pretty used to having to play with the pitch trim constantly anyway (though it seems like it's less pronounced in beta 2) Is it normal for there to be a tiny bit of no-spring at dead center?

While we're on the topic what is everyone doing for dead zones and axis curves? I wonder if going from a linear curve to a progressive one will help with aiming.

Gear: I don't have a mechanical deadzone like that, and didn't in the later preprod test unit. When run in Foxy's graphic analyzer, it returns to center perfectly and I cannot push it anywhere that it doesn't center from. I did see some of that in an early test unit and assumed it was due to the early development nature. In that case, there was enough movement around center that I could move it through about 1/4 of a foxy 'medium' grid square... so about 2.5% in each axis. I don't know if they consider this acceptable tolerance or not.

The only profile I've really written so far is one that mirrors our VTB cougar profile for the most part. As such it's currently set with about a 40% curve ("4" in TARGET...would've been -7 in Foxy) with a 5% deadzone. We might tweak it a bit from there - that setting was based on pretty much the whole team flying force-input Cougars.
