It's all we have on the console so far though... I think I'll grab it for fun.

Just been playing the PS3 edition which arrived this morning in the early post.

Have to confess I'm unable to look at it objectively since there's a bunch of things that are all too familiar which detracts from a 'fresh' experience. It's a fun game, the default controls seemed counter-intuitive (the collective and pedals onto the right stick which don't physically correspond in my brain, will try to swap them around if you can). Nice rotor 'thump' when you accelerate, love the sound environment they created. Ground doesn't seem to scale very well, trees seems lethal to the touch but at least you can mow them down.

Music seemed oddly familiar for some reason, is some recycled from iL2?

An enjoyable and pretty blast that is reasonably priced (as far as console games go). Best console helo game by far. No need to play Medal of Honor to unlock the helo section now. Just get this, it's cheaper and better.

Will try the co-op tonight.

The music makes me think of Rainbow Six or Ghost Recon. IL2BOP was a kind of grand orchestral type sound (also very well done). Gaijin does presentation very well. Voice acting is good too.

Absolutely LOVING this game. Comparing it to DCS, it's VEEERY arcadey, but comparing it to any other 360 or PS3 game, it's VEEERY DCS, lol. Hopefully this will get a few people to explore some more serious titles. I'm doing an LP of the PC version, check it out...

Awesome video! I will buy it now, depending on only one extra thing;

Can we play dual cockpit MP? I.e. one playing as pilot, one playing as gunner?

Edit/ nvm, i found this; http://forum.yuplay.com/index.php?showtopic=2746&st=20

That is unbelievably dissapointing... but i think i'll still buy it! smile

You can trust SimHQ! I tried to get some discussion going at avsim and simflight but there is apparently no interest on combat flight sims over there. A bit sad really frown.

I purchased this today after trying out the PS 3 demo a few days ago. As you would expect the graphics on PC is much better and the control support is solid! No problems with my CH setup. I was actually struggling with AAA on realistic on the console. With correct controls realistic is still easier then black shark certainly. I think they found a nice balance here between arcade and realism. Practise mode is pure arcade but the aircraft still have a nice feel of weight to them. Realistic mode is as suggested more realistic and do require more skill but is never frustrating ala Black Shark.

I haven´t started with the campaign it look kind of basic IL 2 style but I am sure I will have fun with it anyway.

The maps seems a bit small. That is the concession made for consol users I believe otherwise the PC port seem to be well executed. It would be nice with a better speed sensation. I am not sure why I am not quite getting it because the detail level is quite good. Maybe it´s something with the fov?
