Hi all, i finally found enough time to install this game, read a bit the manual, configure some of the the great goodies this community has produced, and try to fly.

there i have a little problem:

i configured my X45 throttle to act as collective, but i have a strange "dead zone" at 60% power.

let me explain further:

from 0% to 60% throttle act smoothly.

from 60% to 61% i have a long course with no action.

from 61% to 120% throttle acts smoothly.

if anyone understands my poor english explanations, maybe you have an idea of what to change in the .ini file to get a smooth action of throttle from 0 to 120% ?

thanks in advance \:\)

My throttle acts as yours (Thrustmaster stick & throttle), but unfortunatly I haven't any cure for it. There's nothing strange in the source code either (AFAI understand).
Let's see if someone got a solution, I'd be glad to apply it ;\)

Positive on that Retro, other games are OK. Testing in Windows "Game Device-control" is w/o any "deadband" too

Hmm.. Moje, if you have the time/inclination, you could try changing the lines

#define JOYSTICK_AXIS_DEADZONE 0.2

in

eech-new\modules\system\joystick.h(71)
eech-new\modules\system\external\joy_int.h(71)
eech-new\modules\system\external\joystick.h(71)

to

#define JOYSTICK_AXIS_DEADZONE 0.0

You´d have to recompile
eech-new\modules\system\joystick.c
to get the effect of this change. IMHO there´s a good chance this is the problem.

Edit: of course, with this problem you´d lose the deadzone in the cyclic axis too.. a workaround would be to add a -dcdz:0.2 command line option

Roger...
Changed, compiled and tested -Sucsess !! \:D
I'll commit those changes after testing some more. Didn't feel any change regarding cyclic during the 1st short test.
I'll run through a couple of missions before committing.
Hope nothing comes up that forces a "roll-back".
Thanks a lot Retro ;\)

If all goes well it will be included in the next experimental exe -160w16. Don't know (yet) when it will be released, but IMHO eech is flyable with the deadband as long as you're aware of it.
