Very nice sim. I have a lot to learn. have not read the manual yet, so these shots dont show a lot of combat action.

I don't like this bloom effect and the main color tone (too pastel), not very realistic... the Dx11 images from some time ago had a very real life-like, it's too bad that they can match it with the dx9.

directx11: much better lighting and without the bloom!

SHar82,

Those were actually DX9 shots. There has never been any DX11 shots (unless I'm badly mistaken). They had announced they were going to make a run at incorporating DX11, but it was more time than they wanted to invest for right now and would have delayed this critter.

You can turn off HDR and the bloom effects. See the shots here I took last night. Lots of flavors to choose from...

There has never been any DX11 screen shots, all images from DCS A-10C Warthog were DX9 and have been mentioned by Wags at ED. DCS A10C will not be DX11.

I agree, DX9 looks like #%&*$#. And the landscape in DCS always looked like a faded water color painting, not enough contrast, vibrance, or brightness.

DX10 with its lighting effects just makes everything brighter. I feel like I'm going blind with eyestrain sometimes trying to make out terrain features in Blackshark.

Wait, you realize that all the screenshots posted in this thread are DX9, right? If you think the above are #%&*$#, then I'd like to know what games you've been playing.

I too think the terrain is DCS is getting a little old. Sure there are some improvements compared to the first Lock On and Flanker, mountains and hills are more detailed and water looks a little better. But the terrain needs to be redesigned eventually.

I think the lightning is pretty good in A-10C. Not as good as it would have been with DX11 though. DX11 allows more colors and better contrast when using HDR - Take a look at DIRT 2 with DX11 - It looks amazing compared to GRID's DX9 graphics.

The models and cockpit in A-10C are truly a work of art. Love the little details such as the spinning GAU-8.

I've only had a few flights in the A-10C and love it so far. I'm sticking to basic flight training for now. I don't have the stomach to dive into all the avionics and manual just yet smile

I will ignore all ideas for new works and engines of war, the invention of which has reached its limits and for whose improvement I see no further hope.

Dude.. You need to come flying with me sometime in real life and see how washed out and dull everything looks from the air. Really.
