Here is the final version of my new map Prokhorovka.


What you get:
Command either a T-34,SU-122,Panther,Tiger or the Stug-III on the biggest tank battle of WWII.
Original terrain based on google map heightmap

Importand for beta users only!
If you have already the beta version of this map installed you need
to disable it in the JSGME mod enabler first!
Next you need to delete the following line you already added to your camp_list.ENGCFG file in following directory

c:/program files/Lighthouse Interactive/Steel Fury - Kharkov 1942/data/k42/loc_rus/levels/LEVELS/camp/


delete this line:

camp\prokho_camp.engcfg, prokho, txt_cm_camp_Prokho, true, img_single;

and save the file

Installation instructions:



First make sure that you have the JSGME mod enabler installed and that the Steel Panzer mod 1.5 beta (or higher) is enabled.
Next copy the "Rends_Prokhorovka_Version1" folder you find next to this readme file into the "MODS" folder you find under
c:/program files/Lighthouse Interactive/Steel Fury - Kharkov 1942
Run the JSGME mod enabler and activate "Rends_Prokhorovka_Version1"



Next open the camp_list.ENGCFG with notepad. You find the file under

c:/program files/Lighthouse Interactive/Steel Fury - Kharkov 1942/data/k42/loc_rus/levels/LEVELS/camp/

2. Now add following 2 lines directly under the exsisting camp entries


camp\prokho_camp.engcfg, prokho, txt_cm_camp_Prokho, true, img_t34;
camp\prokhower_camp.engcfg, prokhower, txt_cm_camp_Prokho1, true, img_pz4;


Check install screenshot about how it should look like!
Close notepad and you will be asked to save the file. Click on the yes button.

Run the game and you find 2 Prokhorovka entries in the campaign list.

That¥s all!

Notice the first 2 mission for each side are basicly the same just with different tanks.
This means also that the mission instructions stay the same.

Hi Rends,
Just played the mission with the PzIV F-2 and the PzV Panther, awesome just does not describe it fully thumbsup Finally I get to command a Panther woot . The 2 thing's I saw that were wonky but have nothing to do with your excellent designed mission was the Ferdinand (while doing an excellent job as a TD from long distances), seemed to also like to drive right up on the enemys arse sometimes, especially on the Su-122 hahaha The other thing was the Panthers gun seemed a little weak. The PzIV F-2 75mm seemed way more lethal the Panthers 75mm with either AP or HE. The issues I mentioned are an AI issue and a cannon spec issue which I hope the guys working on the final of SPM 1.5 correct. But the mission itself even though it's a beta (could have fooled me WinkNGrin ) is just thumbsup I have never seen so many Russian tanks and TD coming from all directions, using the terrain and hull down positions masterfully. Many times I only got a brief glimps of a T-34 or Su-122 before it would quickly disappear behind a hill, leaving me to wonder where it would appear again. had to really work on getting getting snap shots nailed down. The mission as a whole really got the heart pumping as the action started quickly (no long drive to the battlefield). I ran out of AP pretty quickly and only had a few rounds of HE left in the end, was really starting to sweat the ammo situation, was really worried I was going to run out eek . The only suggestion I could make would be more infantry and AT's are needed, didn't see to many in there, but the tank action is just skyisfalling (in a good way).

Just about the panther, in a t-34, should I be able to knock one out with one shot? It seems the crews aways bail out if I put an AP round in to the sides between the top of the treads and the hull overhang.

I don´t know if the Panthers armor and gun is made correctly or not but will post a question on the russian board.

About adding more units. There are about up to 60-70 units on the map right now. My computer (Intel C2D 2.26Ghz) can´t handle much more or framerate would drop down too low. What i could do is adding more units (infantry/guns) but then they will only appear if you set the game difficulty settings to hard.

I also had to take out another different tank unit because i ran out of graphic card ram (256MB) and the game crashed. There was a Brummbear and a Stug on the map earlier and it took me some time to find out why the game crashed with more different units. Well i have the idea to bring them back. So far i know the battle last 36 hours. I could make different time setting missions and simple replace some units ( take the elefant out and bring back the Stug or Brummbear for example)

I also know from one person that he saw a graphic glitch (no sky while playing the mission) but he didn´t report any PC specs yet.

very exciting, but I agree It could use some infantry, maybe German APC's also if possible. Now if only some one would make a mod for Panzer III/IV's with three color camo and skirts...

Seen that screenshot of sky issue that one player reported (at sukhoi.ru), and I can say with confidence that this is not related to your Kursk/Prokhorovka map.

Never could get your beta version to work, but your final version installed and everything is great! Many thanks for posting this final version! Now to get to the Battle of Kursk!

I still think that the missions could use more Hanomags, but other than that, IT IS FANTASTIC!

Just played the tiger mission and it was superb....loads of atmosphere...so much fighting going on vision was lost for awhile which felt really realsitic...loved it....I beg you to carry on and make more...

This is a great mission! I haven't played any other mission in 1.5 yet but don't feel the need to as I keep playing this over and over.

It's a small thing, but I also like how there is a pause at the start prior to the vehicles mobilising. I never liked how on standard maps, you enter the mission with the vehicles rolling, but having a pause lets you take stock of the scene.

Unfortunately I didn't manage to get the emblems mod to work.
