Hello all I am getting a "pic not found p109gytr.tpc!" when I want to play the SWOTL campaign on the German side. A couple of other questions from a newbie who came back to this game after some years: - which campaign replaces the DAW one (1940,1943 or 1944)? - is there a plane set for the default BOB (1940) campaign somewhere?
Good job on bringing this old game up to the new standards!

Hi Uros,
if you have 1.28E loaded then just pick the 'early eto' planeset on your config screen to get suitable planes for BOB...
cheers,

Hi,
if you unload the plane sets or select Plane set 5, you get the default plane set, then BoB work as usual.
The ETO early plane set is realy more a 1941+ plane set.
Greetings,
Knegel

Hi, all,
I installed 128E over an existing (working) 128c installation, along with the add-ons and the SWOTL, but am still getting the "pic wrong resolution" message. I can hear the initial flight when it loads, but no plane image or menus....
The music just starts.. and then I get the error message...
The resolution on my computer is set to 1024 x 768, but it doesn't work on any computer or EAW resolution either. Any suggestions?

Hi Bularia,
it isnt the resolution of your monitor screen or your eaw that is wrong, the problem you are having is that for 1.28E we rebuilt the menu screens in 1024x768, one or more of your screens are the old resolution, that is why you can't run them.. the menus are all in one of the cdf files that came with the 1.28E installer so if you installed correctly I think they should have all been swapped for the new ones, try installing the 1.28E installer to an empty folder and copy the cdf files to your eaw directory
cheers,
Pobs

Ok, I did a clean full install of EAW from my CD, and copied the files from the 128E to the EAW directory (Program Files/Microprose/European Air War/ When I try to run the program, the screen goes black and I hear the introductory engine, but no picture of the P-51 flying around the world. I click with the mouse, and I get a weak Morse Code; click again, and I get music and about a third of the screen, cut off just below the "Pilot Career" section. If I select "Instant Mission", I get the gauge, and then the flight cockpit comes up with a voice announcing a greeting to "Foxhole Flight" and engine running; an instant later the screen goes black again and the program freezes, still with the engine running. I have to do the three finger salute and hit "Alt E" to get back to WinXP desktop. All other choices give me the truncated screen.... The only other alterations have set the .ini file to 1024 x 768, and added the line that lets me run it no-cd...... If I try to run other versions of EAW.exe (1.2a, 1.2c), I get other errors, e.g. "7217" (this is just by copying the files over and renaming). Would 1.2d make a difference? Thanks, Chuck P.S., I do have a version that is working under 1.2c (I think), except for very garbled screens. I'm thinking maybe it is the movies.cdf file for that initial opening screen where I can't see the p51??? Hi Bularia,

Hi, the main problem is the graphiccard or its driver. One possible solution is to use the 3dwindower(please use the SimHQ search option to seak for the related threads), the windower offer the biggest probability to get all versions of EAW going. Another possibility might be to use a other driver for your graphiccard, if there is a working driver for your card depends to your card. NVidea is realy doing a bad job regarding their 8-bit support. If one EAW version is working, the other also should work, but dont make the mistake and use your EAW1.28c EAW.ini in EAW1.28e, let the game create a new EAW.ini, then make the needed changings. Greetings, Knegel
