Well if your like me and HATE to dual boot just for Open Falcon, it looks like a fix (at least for nvidia users) is here with the new 260 drivers. I have been testing a fix that was suggested to me by Drummer84 and it seems to work. I managed to fly around for about 60 minutes -- which is about 58 minutes more than I have ever been able to manage before. There are still some issues with FSAA but at least dual boot is no longer required.

1. Go to your Open Falcon folder and right click on the F4-BMS.exe then select copy.
2. Paste it into another directory or desktop and rename the exe to "FalconAF" no quotes of course.
3. Cut the renamed FalconAF.exe into your Open Falcon Folder
4. If you wish to keep the original icon you can just change where it points to in the 'target' section. example "x(your drive/directory)xxx\Falcon4\FalconAF.exe"

* Possible issues with Rapace Launcher, IVC not yet tested
** To set Image quality setting in the driver you will have to add the exe in your Nvidia Control Panel/3D settings.
If you have Allied Force already installed on your machine and set up in the Nvidia Control Panel - you will not be able to create a separate profile. It will use the one that is already there.

*** Open Falcon 4.7 seems to have the best Image Quality when FSAA is on MultiSample. All other settings cause 'shimmer'

With FSAA 8x in game there is shimmer not shown in the screenshot





FSAA set to Multisample no shimmer in game but there are other graphical anomolies. See shot below around cockpit. Personally I can live with it.

In order to get a PROPER fix for Open Falcon. Please add your support to this thread at nvidia.

this will be great news, I fly Falcon4 AF, but can not use primary device driver or T&L HAL or Anisotropic aliasing.
Would also like to fly Open Falcon but can not because of the .exe problem.
I try to install open Falcon i get Falcon AF registry patch already installed. Is there a work around for installing OF?

@Protos I think your issue with the texture problem is adaptation try setting to performance?
I also see your at supper-sampling try at multisampling.
It look like something with the decals?

Adaption ? I am afraid I am not familiar with that setting.

I did try setting Texture Filtering - Quality = Performance and that did not work.

With regards to AF, I am not sure what is wrong with your registry, but I would advocate blitzing the install and deleting anything to do with AF in registry. Reboot, Run Crap Cleaner, Defrag and then reinstall Allied Force

Adaption is under power management mode. This is the most common problem with GPU win7/64 bit power struggle.
