How should a civilian casual-Xbox-PS3-Flightgame look like? Must be great fun... Nothing else than simulate something makes sense for me...for me...

Uh. With all due respect, and with a non-answer from Mr. Beans regarding his "friends" in Redmond (a mere 70 miles away form my front door)...
Since Sublogic Flight Simulator in, what, 1980 or so... the franchise has done just fine with the word "simulator" in its title.
My guess is, and I would bet money on this... this is a console-PC crossover cluter yank that even the FS98 holdovers will say... "hahahaha". How is it a non-answer? When I talk to them next I will ask if they know anything about MS Flight and the direction it is taking. Where are you getting your information that this will be a console-PC crossover? My original point was that everybody is in a panic because it said LIVE somewhere in a tiny blurb. Nobody on here knows what this game will be about yet the most common thing I hear is that it will be some dumbed down, social networking experiment that will utterly fail because it lacks the word Simulator in the title. Jeez, I wonder how X-plane manages to sell anything with a name like that? Aren't all MGS games getting LIVE integration? I really don't see why that is so terrible compared to Gamespy. But if everyone wants to get themselves into a tizzy over the name of a GAME then go right ahead. I was just hoping to inject a little sanity into the pot rather than stir it. Perhaps someday I will have the chance to take some of you locals over to Longacres and show you what a real simulator is.

I'm not getting information. I said my "guess" is. But you've made no progress in answer the question, only saying that you have friends that live in Redmond. We're all awaiting your report with vetted anticipation.

By the way... the whole point of releasing a teaser is to instill pot stirring.
Little marketing FYI there for you.

I think the plan is to go MMO online. As far as the format goes it would be along the lines of EVE online. You advance through Skill Points, earn ISK (money) through endless missions, etc. One can`t fly anything unless you have the SP and money to fuel up,...etc. When you think about it,.....it is plausable. For anyone that plays EVE, they would understand the concept. Always thst desire to go a little further, fly faster, bigger etc. One could eventually own and run an airport. The sky is the limit. If I was designing flight that is the direction I would go. Just think of the possibilities.

Check out the latest teaser: Lift Lots of bashing going on, with scant info on the product. Gotta love simmers, LOL! I like the way the Stearman leans when making the turn onto the runway. And the way it slips while climbing out. Maybe these are just fake effects, just for the vids, but they show an awareness of the true nature of FLIGHT.

Well what are we really seeing in this Lift video?
1. Scenery looks like FSX, might be using the same engine or a derivative one. 2. Working gauges, seems to suggest they are not going the HAWX route as what use would they be then? 3. Nice suspension physics on the Stearman. 4. Sounds appear to be nice in the video. 5. Scenery appears to cast shadows on the plane, did FSX do this as standard?
Overall this makes me mildly optimistic! Perhaps they are just going for a rebranding and a new marketing strategy?
