What stunning pictures! (freaked me out when you flipped to jets!-)

I would love to see B-17 in person...what did it sound like?

I think I have a video of Fuddy Duddy starting up at Chino's airshow in May.
I was standing less than 100 feet from her when she started up.
I'll see if I can find it and I'll upload it to YouTube

Great work there, Tromplamort, nicely done.

Got a question. In the second in flight pic of the PBY Catalina, the wing pontoons seem to have disappeared. Any explanation for that?

On the first shot they are deployed, and on the second shot they are retracted at the wing tip.

A good video of a PBY taking off from Duxford at the 2008 airshow.


It's my understanding that the wingtip floats were only deployed for landing on the water for stability.
