Dear Sirs, I want to tell you about the project which started in Russia. Russian community at forum sukhoi.ru start campaign to collect donations for the payment of construction flyable model of soviet heavy four-engine bomber Pe-8, for IL-2 simulator.

The project is based on my 3 years of historical research, which were accumulated information led to the project a reality.

This project have the official support from Team Daidalos.

1. Pilot Cockpit.

Navigator Pit and two cannon towers will be made in the form of a black screen with the sights.

The duration of 4-6 months.
The required amount of funds 120 000 - 180 000 rub. [4 000 - 6 000 USD]

When will reserve the time and money will be carried out second stage:

1. 3D navigator Pit
2. 3D pits for cannon tower x2

Report on the project will lay a special branch, possibly periodically, at least 2 times a month.
The branch will be established as soon as it assembled in a minimum of 40 000 rubles. to get started.

For Russia's citizens donations can be made through any machine payment provider, you must choose WebMoney and make a comfortable amount to account number: R 9422 8437 3387
For citizens of Ukraine's account number: U 2597 7641 5415

The possibility of donations to other payment services certainly is, but only as a last resort and in this case can not be refund if the project chart ranks. Please ask for other methods only if a WebMoney not work.


If someone want to support this project, you need ask your local banks about a ways to transfer money to Russia, and inform me here.

Now default way make donation for overseas - Western Union money transfer, ask to private.

I'd strongly advise anyone NOT to 'donate' to this without official confirmation from 1C:Maddox that this has been approved.

Psy06, can you tell us what exactly this 'official support from Team Daidalos' consisted of, and whether they, or anyone else, approved your asking for donations?

Edit - It appears my suspicions about this were unfounded - see later posts for clarification.

Psy06 is a respected DT member. The group supports this project and will add the model into the game as soon, as it will be complete. The final product will be distributed for free.

However, DT does not receive the donations, as they go to the model author/developer to fund a 3rd party professional 3D modelers, who will help him to complete this project. This is private initiative of Psy06.

Sorry, but I'm a little confused here. What exactly is this 'private initiative of Psy06' - the Pe-8, or asking for funding to support it? As I understand it, TD have always worked on a voluntary basis, but Psy06 seems to imply that they are now supporting 3rd parties asking for funding to support projects. If they are doing this, can you please ask them to confirm it to us themselves.

Both. He wants this plane flyable, but realizes, that such a project is not doable by a single person in any reasonable time (at least 7 cockpits, if I remember correctly). So, he tries to collect donations and use the money to hire additional pro modelers to build this cockpits.

DT as a team, basically, does not care, where the model came from (unless it is not stolen, offcourse), if it is built up to technical and artistic standards of the game, it will be accepted and added to the game.

So have TD approved asking for funding for this project, or not? If someone claims that they are backing something, I think it is reasonable to ask for evidence to support this.

Daidalos as a whole neither approves nor disapproves. We did discuss Psy's idea and the final decision was to treat it as his private business. Which means it's up to him how he runs this project and what he does to pull it off - and he's also taking all the risks involved on his own.

And I bet if he were advertizing such a project on the B-17 or B-24 there'd be tons of "Where to I donate?" posts in here already. popcorn
