Excellent-I forgot to mention that as well. Makes a huge difference.

Here are some examples of what I was talking about regarding closing with your target.

The 4th pic shows the gunner taken out of action and the 5th shows both crewmen out of action. Used very few bullets.

take a movie and analyze your shooting in slow-mo afterwards...

Gotta say, it's not historical but taking a movie and watching from the enemy's point of view is perhaps the best way to figure out what you're doing wrong with your shooting.

This is an example of what happens when I get alittle "pushy" and get just alittle too close! yep

I only get this stupid when I'm on my side of the lines!

I've become pretty skillful at landing my DXII "deadstick"!!! The secret is to keep the nose down and "fly" it on the ground. If I get cutesy and try to slow it down for a three-pointer, it's a noseover.

*Grin* Terribly sorry, but I thought your problem was with too many aircraft exploding into flames and kites loosing wings as soon as someone looked at 'em? biggrin (I just couldn't resist, sorry chap!)

Heh, I have the same problem. As a matter of fact, all of my landings are made without power, both in simulators and with R.C. model aircraft. I trained myself to do that over the years. However, once more my prior experience fails me in Rise of Flight; though I am an artist about landing in other sims and with R.C. planes, in R.o.F. I often find myself flaring too high. This causes me to stall higher than I should, drop down roughly, and usually groundloop. I think it's actually the limited visibility in the SPAD XIII which is responsible; I don't have this problem nearly as badly if I'm leaning out of the cockpit for a better view. The zoom level also seems to affect my success.

I've tested this out and the A.I., at least in some cases, can detect you even when you are directly below them and have no line of sight to either the pilot or the observer. They just suddenly begin a hard bank.
