Forums are almost unusable for me this weekend. Not sure why, but everything is slow, even basic posting in forums. I also tried using the new image posting feature (which I'm happy to see), but it kept messing up due to connection problems. All other sites work for me such as YouTube, Netflix, Steam, etc.

The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.

I'm finding the forum quite slow at the moment as well. Pinging SimHQ.com returns an average time of 125ms, while pinging google is an average of 31ms.

Guys, try the Ctrl + F5 to clear cache and see if that helps. Running okay here. Anyone else having a problem with the forum being slower?

Cleared cache and still quite slow. Tracert leads me to believe there is a problem somewhere between the server and my box. Here is the full report:

Since image hosting is now enabled, it might also help to add the types of images allowed/dis-allowed by SimHQ on the little HelpText window.

I wasn't thinking about the file format for images. I was referring to the SimHQ restriction regarding images that promote other sites.

"Image posting and reposting. We cannot allow unauthorized, copyrighted images in the SimHQ Forums. If you find an image that you know is copyrighted and not posted by the owner, email the webmaster and it will be deleted.

We will allow:
a) images created by the poster;
b) screenshots taken by the poster;
c) images and/or screenshots directly released from developers to promote their games/sims.

Do not post images originally published on another enthusiast web site. In all other cases beside these examples a link to the image at the source site must be used in lieu of the reposted image."

IIRC, we are also not allowed to post logos of other sites that we are affiliated with or wish to promote.

I'm seeing a big improvement now, too. Will try the image uploader now.

Update: The image uploader is a gem! I've been dreaming of this feature ever since I first started using forums.

Thanks for adding the image hosting capabilities. Now if you're looking for something else to do (ahem), could someone pleasepleaseplease fix the code for inserting a hyperlink? It's really clunky, it can't be used on highlighted text, and it adds extra spaces around the link that need to be removed manually if you're an anal-retentive when it comes to editing.

Here's my $.02...

While the image hosting is nice, what I really wanna see is a bulk uploader, as I usually post up to 25 screens (sometimes more) per 'Military Monday' and adding them one...at...a...time is a slug fest at best. However, I really like that there's no longer any image quality corruption due to the forum auto re-size function. Also, the ability to view an image up to 1650x is much better than the previous 950x.

A bulk uploader would be nice. Maybe in the next upgrade.

Using an Image as a link is not working anymore.

Code:
[URL=http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/wheelsup_cavu/91%20Fwy/100_1260.jpg]
[IMG]http://i479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/wheelsup_cavu/91%20Fwy/th_100_1260.jpg[/IMG][/URL]

Same thing in the Community Hall forum, for me anyway.

Something I just noticed. While Firefox displays the re-sized image w/o corruption, Internet Explorer renders the image as if there was no anti-aliasing. I know it's not a problem w/ the forums, but there it is...

The old posts where I have used the [ url] [ img] tags still work Doug. It's just in the new posts where it isn't working.
I even tried using some that are still working in old posts and it won't work in this post.

They are still clickable links but the Image doesn't show.
