Hey folks. I just got a TIR4pro. I can't seem to get it to function right. I uninstalled my TIR3pro and installed the latest software from Natural Point. I also hit the update button in the software to update it again. I'm not accustomed to this newer software that seems to map this big black three dimensional space. But for the life of me I can't get it to track properly. My old TIR3 liked to be about three feet away from me to fit me into that IR cone nicely with no clipping. But with this one, I though it was supposed to have a wider angle. That aside, I have placed it atop my monitor, I have placed it further back on a shelf and I have pulled my chair back away from it. No matter what distance I try, the tracking is all over the place. I'll turn my head left and it will turn left and up and zoom. It'll stick and jutter and clip no matter what distance I'm at or settings. I've turned my lights off but so far its not working right. I've tried to games to make sure it wasn't a fluke in the game and in both, the view just goes askews and zips around and its just a mess. I've had my TIR3 for probably six years so I'm pretty familiar with how they work but I can't figure this one out. Thanks for any help,

Sounds like it's broke to me...

It should be fine on top of your monitor. Sounds like it's picking up light from some other source. That's how mine reacts when the curtain isn't fully closed. (daytime)

That's the thing though, just to maker sure I pulled the shade and turned off the light. Plus it was around 7 in the evening when I tried it about a half hour ago.

I also noticed the unit itself felt very hot to the touch.

That does sound faulty, mine can be on for hours with NO heat build up whatsoever! Think I'd be returning it.

All seems well now with older software version. Latest version seems to be the problem for some reason. Thanks for the tips.
