Some passive adapters don't work at all in an EyeFinity setup however no matter how low the resolution. I've tried a couple that didn't. I have a feeling they weren't dual link...

Passive adapters do not work, but single link active adapter do. Single link is restricted to 1920x1200 on the monitor using the adapter. The new single link active adapters take their power from the plug rather than a separate USB source.

From the link in my last post:

"The big announcement of the conference call was the release of Active DP > SL-DLI adapters onto the market. While the products had been announced as "coming soon" by manufacturers such as Accell, we were informed that the products would indeed be reaching the market in September.

The new Single Link adapter is made to greatly reduce the cost and complexity of setting up Eyefinity. DP monitors are not needed, and this adapter is much smaller, cheaper and easier to use than the first Dual-Link DVI adapters that were available."

Yeah, that sounds like the adapter they were talking about, in the press release I linked to below the posted images.

On Amazon UK, there's a store selling the ~100$ Accell adapter for ~30quid, but he's also on Ebay:

I'm still on XP, but I hope to go Win7 Pro this weekend and fix the "blinking display" issue I have at the moment.
