As I meantioned in another thread... I'm at work, (work the night shift)... was a slow night so i pulled up to the close McD and used thier always on always free wifi with my Alienware Netbook... first i saw that the upgrade was on sale so I ordered my copy... then I downloaded all 9 files.. in less then 30 minutes... how in the hell can McDonalds have a faster wireless connection then my wired connection at home, lol... So I was happy...

I first tried to activate one of my new license on my dongle... wouldn't work, so i installed the SB program first... it also updated the dongle...so then when I tried to activate it it worked... so install SB Pro PE first then activate, probally says that in the instructions but who has time for instructions. lol

So anyway... I'm good to go on my netbook, ran a few missions was very nice... inctredible to be playing this on a netbook at 50 fps. thank you Alienware! wink

Also used the McD's wifi to download a 1.7 GB patch for ArmA2... all in under an hour. Got to get thier connection service for my home. wink

Sounds kinda like my experience although without the McD, the connection here is wickedly fast most of the time. (guaranteed 4mbit, often way above bith up- and download).

I can only say one thing about this update, WOW!!!!

Mine went very similar to you're install Magnum.

I used Chrome to get my licence and had some errors, then I tried Ie and it said I need a upgrade to the keycode software, which it did. I then uninstalled Pro PE and did a new install, only to see the same upgrade for the keycode going in.

Moral of the story.

Un-Install, install the new update run the keycode email from Ie after the previous tasks are completed.

I chickened out and used IE8+ActiveX. Least hassle.

Same here. Codemeter kept reporting some problem or other with Firefox. Funny, these are exactly the situations I keep IE handy for.

It is hardly surprising that with thousands of people trying a new method of updating their software licenses some previously unknown issues have been discovered. All in all I think however that there are comparatively few cases where it didn't work right away, and that pretty much all of the remaining cases could be solved with little extra effort. Less than ten turned out to be more complicated, but even here I think we managed to solve them all.

Thanks Mag, I was going to ask the question about when to activate the new dongle license. I ordered the CD and license the other day, but don't have the CD yet. So I thought, "Should I upgrade the license now, even though I don't have the game installed?"

lol, great minds and all that.

Yes. And you can download all the installation files even if you ordered the DVD. You'd later simply install it over the existing installation to add the extras.
