these missions seem to run fine on my minimum spec system but have not been extensively tested. install in \Rise of Flight\data\Multiplayer\Dogfight directory. NKP RoF Multiplayer Missions

Looks promising! Do they work with two players as well? I'll give them a try anyway

Aloha Soda,
The Wing Walkers enjoyed your missions today!!
I threw all 4 up on the dedicated after our meeting today and had a great turnout!
Had anywhere from 6 to 16 players.
I will be using these (and any more you create in this series) on a regular basis!
Thank You!
S!

aloha gentlemen, thx for response.
yes sir Vanderstok, missions should play well with two players, opposed or team play.
WWBrian, pleased to hear missions provided some enjoyable game play for a group as experienced as the Wing Walkers. you guys must have a pretty good dedicated setup to host +16, envious. currently researching another that will get the Pfalz D.IIIa in the mix.

I'm running both the dserver.exe and the rof.exe on the same 6-core processor as in my sig. Works GREAT!

I have been playing these missions for a few weeks now and I must say that they are really good.
How did you do the AI? Is it just a bunch of timed flights or did you guys figure out how to make them respawn?

AI respawn to keep mission overhead low. initial takeoff by probability based delay timers, re-spawn by multiple conditional triggers. helps keep things unpredictable.
glad you’re enjoying Master, thx for feedback.

howzit Vanderstok.

Greetings my friend! TacticalS! from the Fighting Irish Squadron here mate. I too will give your missions a try (I'm sure they are very good). We have a group of lads within the Squadron getting into this sim, by any chance do you have any more missions (static DF and coops)? Haven't gotten into the mission builder, and find multiplayer a bit lacking from a cooperative squad-based perspective. We have been enjoying the stock coop missions mind you.
Trust all is well in the Pacific!
Best Regards

well this is a nice surprise, howzit Tac. been putting most my RoF time in the single player campaign since it's release, but do have a number of mp projects collecting dust, will get back on them if you guys are getting into it. ME is very good.

Soda, I downloaded the four missions from your site but only one of them includes a MISSION file in the package (Bapaume). The other three are missing this file and therefore don't appear in the list of dogfight missions. I already deleted the MSNBIN file in order to get them to load in the latest version of the game. Any idea why these files are absent from the download?

shoots, had forgotten about that Murph. The .MISSION file is not required to load in game, but is needed to convert to latest version.
to get Bapaume to work, delete only the .msnbin file, then open in ME, save & exit ME. Mission should then show & load in game. I’ll dig up the original .MISSION files for the others later tonight, convert & upload to site.
sorry about that.

Thanks for everything Bud. Actually Bapaume loads and runs just fine, since it has all of the files it needs. Should I try opening the other ones in the Mission Builder? Will that add the Mission file?

no need brother Murph, all converted to v1.020 & uploaded to site, should be good to go. These missions were originally made in version v1.012, have made a couple small tweaks along the way, but all really overdue for a major upgrade to use some of the great new ME tools. Got some good ideas last night, planning work on them after v1.021 released. Please let me know if anything not working.
aloha ...

aloha ... For those of us following along but still got lost. Where were these updated missions uploaded? The link in you signature does not seem to be the correct place.Thanks. Never mind the link takes me to the "Team Death Match" files. I had convinced myself you had written "Free Flight" missions. Wheels

Hi Soda; Sorry to have to report, files still do not include a .MISSION file (except Bapaume, which still loads and runs). How does this file get included, or not? Does the mission need to actually be run? Right now only Bapaume appears on the list of dogfight missions in-game, so I'm guessing it's the lack of a .MISSION file that's causing the others not to appear.

hmmm, I found & corrected one error with the link to Marne Bridges page, but all others returned with correct files, including .MISSION files. All missions load in my game. Do your file names have 1.020 at the end?

Well, I tried deleting the ones I had already downloaded and re-downloading, just to alleviate any confusion. When I tried to download from your site I got a 404 error. Murphy's Law. EDIT; All is good! I tried the links today and they work. All files present and accounted for. We'll give these a try next Friday night for Historic Encounters. Thanks, Bro!

Aloha Soda!
Firstly, my apologies for such a long delay.
Well, I finally got around to hosting one of your missions (Bapaume) last Friday (November 18) in our Historic Encounters session. Despite the small turnout we all had a blast! This mission was very well-crafted. Perfect for our small numbers since it featured AI planes for both sides.
The gameplay was a lot like DCG (IL-2), so I really enjoyed the strategic element the mission offered, plus the multiple sorties and freedom folks had to join and rejoin. Granted my exposure to ROF online is limited, yet I have not seen this type of mission/server (though I am sure there must be some) that combined the immersion of AI controlled planes with all the benefits of a Dogfight server. Given the small ROF crowd perhaps more servers should host such missions? Anyway, perfect for Squads looking for more meaningful online time together but can’t yet muster enough live bodies to fill the planes.
Ok, enough praise my friend. While we intend to replay this particular mission next time with hopefully more lads (and any online guests), not to mention those other three missions we have yet to even try, I must ask the obvious question – will you please be posting more missions soon? If you do know that we will definitely be using them.
Very best regards, :FI:TacticalS!
