i have the retail box version of Arma2 OA, does it matter where i get british forces add-on from? i.e. does the steam or impulse version of british forces only work with the steam/impulse install of arma2oa? or does it not matter? what about future patches, are the steam british forces users gonna get stuck with steam's lazy patch implementation?

Steam BAF only works if you have Steam OA. Sprocket and other download sites work with all copies of OA - Steam included.

I have ArmA2, OA, and BAF all through Steam - nothing but good luck here. Patch implementation is very prompt.

I have and love all the steam releases... the only problem was the original release of OA, if you got it immediately it was installed separately, not as a mod, so you had to do the short cut dance... they had that fixed within days, unfortunately I get my games day of release and it was a slight problem.

I have ArmA2, OA, and BAF all through Steam and use this ArmA II Launcher by SpiritedMachine

No shortcut dance for me. Just tell the launcher were your Arma2,OA and mods maps are. You can make groups with selected mods you wanna use, select some game variable options and of you go..
