My 6 year old Samsung 204-B 22 " LCD died yesterday. I purchased this absolutely fabulous Samsung 23" PX-2370 LED Wife Screen monitor:

http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/offic...&returnurl=

I never in my wildest dreams could imagine a new, modern technology monitor could make such a difference in all my gaming(PC and XBOX 360). This monitor has the most beautiful display I have ever seen. All my games have been taken to a whole new level of enjoyment(much brighter, amazing contrast, deep and brilliant colors). Incerdible features, settings, connectivity to all devices. The 5,000,000:1 dtnamic contrast ratio and 2ms response rate combine for very fast abd crisp performance.

I highly recommend this Samsung Monitor for enyone in need of a new one. Purchased at Best Buy for $309.

For users of Flight Simulator FSX- This wide screen Samsung LED Monitor really has made a significant differcence in the display quality of the simulator. A wider , brighter, clearer rendering of all scenary + the whole display jusy "pops" with a WOW factor that was not there with my older LCD monitor.

The more I use this level of wide screen, LED,2ms response,5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio-the more I notice what a great improvement this is from my 6 year old Samsung LCD.

Note: I do not work for Samsung ! LG also makes a similar specs model. Just wanted to let folks designing new gaming systems my observations.

The monitor does have good specs. Seems like one to consider as says it has the color gamut and off axis viewing. Maybe makes up for discontinuing the similar performing (based on the specs) Samsung model my wife uses.

Looks like it is very good but it doesn't do 120hz refresh rate which is a must have IMO.

Looks like a respectable monitor for the money, but it's apparently TN, which means poor viewing angles unless one of the touted features really does deliver. (But if it can really render the full sRGB color gamut, that's pretty impressive for TN.)

As for 120 Hz, I would really like that, but I'd prefer general S-IPS or H-IPS image quality and viewing angles more when it comes down to current LCD tech, and 120 Hz-capable TN panels are generally in the same price range as 60 Hz IPS ones. Viewing angles may not seem all that critical for desktop monitor use...unless you have a TrackIR and don't want the colors shifting as you shift your head and thus viewing angle.

Dynamic contrast is also a meaningless spec to me, since it involves having the backlight shut off, which most likely isn't going to happen in normal usage (unless you like not being able to actually see anything).
