Just had some great groundstarted intercepts with Pobs and Tony, with "full hard" settings(no enemy icons, only inside the cockpit, short distance friendly icons, FM/DM also most difficult of course).

We in Bf109G2´s + gunpods + 1 Ai and 4 Me109K4 Ai´s, vs 8 x B24 + 8 x P51D.

Once again it was a very immersive and extreme experience.

After a failsure in the 1st mission, in the last mission we stayed together and overclimbed the enemys. In a big turn we came in fast from their rear, while the K4´s cam from the front at same time.

In this way the tail gunner fire got splitted and also the Escort dont had a possibility to get behind us. In the initial pass we shot 2 bombers down and smoked one.

Afterward its difficult to tell what exact did happen. I did zoom up and dove down to the tail of the bombers again, when i saw Tony also turning behind them, i think Pobs came a little later this time.
I shot down my 2nd bomber, i think Tony as well and Pobs also got one.
In my 3rd Pass i dont saw any wingis around me, but there was a Bomber a little splitted from the others, so i shot it down, but took damages at same time(left aleron damaged).

Now my Wingguns was empty and i had no less than 4 P51´s on my Tail. After some barrel roll and impacts one overshot, while the others turned toward the bombers, so i attacked the one in my front and shot him down.

Now i was far off the combat and only saw the dots of the remaining Bombers in long distance, so i followed them.
At this time i had time to ask where the others are, and Pobs just belly landed with damaged engine.

Some minutes later i saw a lonely P51 on 2 oc low, climbing toward the bombers. So i attacked it, but was to fast in my initial pass and zommed up. In my 2nd attack i was in a good position when my cannon jammed, so i was shooting with my poor MG17´s.
It need a while to bring a P51 down with them and just when i thought "now i have you", he slowed badly down and i crashed into him, what killed me. frown

I used the free camara view(the only available external view) to seak for Tony, i found him over our base, just landing. smile

This was a incredible immersive game, where we shot down 6 out of the 8 bombers + at least 2 P51´s, for the loss of 3 109G2´s and probably 1 -2 K4´s.

The other game we lost 4 G2´s amd at least 2 K4´s for 2 4-mots. In that game we was initially splitted and we did attack the bombers before the K4´s did. So we lost two planes right away by the tail gunners and i crashed into a Bomber. Afterward i saw that 2 K4´s got shot down by the escort, when they shot to the bombers.

The initial moment is very important, just like in real life. smile

Greetings,

Knegel

Yep, for once I landed a 109G without crashing terminally, or damaging the undercarriage, with the hardest settings LOL smile
