Cool, I downloaded it just to check it out. I really liked the F-18. The ability to deploy JDAMS was pretty clever and alot of fun. The couple of attempts I did at landing usually resulted in an instant explosion. Not sure what exactly I was doing wrong because I've made plenty of worse attempts in the Su-33. Maybe the Hornet is the Pinto of aircraft for all I know. I do have a few questions.

Is it possible to make the F-18A flyable also?
Will the F-18F ever be able to use a SEAD loadout? Really that is the only thing missing currently from the playable US arsenal.

When I left click on the http://www.stallturn.com/wiki/upload/VNAO_FC2_RC3.rar link I get a page with a bunch of code. If I right click and choose "Save As" I get a html link. I'm using Internet Explorer 8. Should I be using another browser? I plan to get FC 2 soon and would like to try this out. Thanks.

By the way, do you guys have room for a Ka-50 only pilot? Even though I like flying Flaming Cliffs, I have my hands full with the Ka-50 when it comes to seriously learning its intricacies.

That sounds like an interesting question. Makes you wonder if part of the Phantasmagoria code could be modified to give flyable american planes HARM capabilities. But then, I don't know sh!t about code.

Really the lack of SEAD capability is the only major downside. You can load Harms, Harpoons, and even the JSOW however I couldn't get any of them to work. Adding SEAD weapons would be killer sweet. With it we could have a proper East vs West scenario without relying on human flown Su-25T for SEAD duties. They did do a pretty cool job with the Mav and JDAM targeting. It is slightly buggy when you try to target but I was pleasantly surprised when the Maverick locked on and tracked its moving target.

We use the KA 50 (USMC skin) as a SEAD/FAC, works well! Mods works very well in FC 2.0( RC3 was develpoed for FC 2.0)
Join and watch our Wed and Fri flys!
Ventrilo is our voice comms

Wow. Great mod- had a lot of fun with it today.

Built two missions- one was a simple Car qual mission, starts you out about 5 mi behind the boat at break altitude for the overhead. Took me a while to grab the hang of it (it's a good bit different than Janes F-18) and then caught 6 traps straight without killing myself. The second mission is a Ready-5 launch for a simple bear hunt.

Love all the skins! Jeez! Those look GREAT!

Is there a way to get an actual cat-shot from the carrier? I had to hold the brakes, go full burner, and then suck up the gear as soon as I came off the nose in order to keep it flying. Without the ramp it doesn't work too well, and with a full anti-air load and gas it won't do the trick. For the second mission I had to start it in the air, just after launch.

I love Janes F-18 but it kills me that the Super Bug flies like such a dog and the graphics are really dated. At least in this game when you mod a Tomcat it can actually get supersonic!

I just finished authoring a 25 mission set for Janes F-18 and now I'm mulling over some mission-creating possibilities using this mod. I play single player but anything I make up and post here you guys can re-work for multiplayer if you want. This mission editor looks fairly easy to use although I'm sure there will be some quirks to learn.

Anyway, Bravo Zulu to the VNAO team and I look forward to seeing more of your work!! Are there any plans to do cockpits for the Tomcat, bugs, and the Intruder?
