LOL..those sneaky Dutch. Yeah..I wish I could have used IAF skins and an F-16A..but all the other versions of Falcon gave me fits. So I had to improvise..

Hey Beach. Great vid, and what a fantastic idea. I have two queries;
Do you have a link to a higher rez video? Even 480p on youtube is a bit.......low.
You arent using TFR as far as i can see. Is this a F-16A thing or just you showing off?
and.......erm..... if this is vol5, where are the other 4? (i've had a rummage but if i missed something obvious, please forgive me, its early here and i am still on my first morning coffee so haven't reached 'cro-magnon-man' stage yet).
Whats next? The gulf war would be a good one. The raid on saddams palace for instance, (from 'vipers in the storm'), would be do-able with the PMC addon theatre.

Sorry..I don't have a higher resolution video posted yet. I'll see if we can host one at some point in the near future. I have a higher res version..but probably don't have the bandwidth to host it on my site.
I don't believe (I'm no F-16 expert) that those early model F-16s had TFR capability. The Israeli ones were fairly stripped down models, so a lot of what we take for granted on our current F-16 sims (laser guided bombs, GPS, FLIR, etc..) weren't available then.
It's interesting to note that that raid on Osirak was the first use of the F-16 in a combat role..so they were literally the test pilots for the operational use of the plane.

Don't YouTube host up to 1080p for free? You need your own YouTube channel mate!

Just finished them before 'Vipers'. Reading 'Apache' now and fighting through the ARMAII british DLC pack. Its bloody hard.
Will re-read Smallwoods F-15 book again since i read your (Beach's Janes F-15e article). A-10 book will be re-read in the week before DCS comes out to get me in the hog mindset.
DCS:A-10 Can't wait for that. Going eBay mental to raise funds for TM HOTAS as well. Not since GUNSHIP have i bought a controller just to play a game!

You talking about the Smallwood book "Warthog" right? Love that book.
Yeah, I thought I would read as much as I could before FC2 was released and Smallwoods book came highly recommended. I hope to have a healthy attempt at the A10A model with this info as I'm just starting to learn FC2. I'd like to get into the map making soon in FC2 & DCS and use material like this for mission ideas in Multiplayer with the 161 Sqn boys. Your articles are good inspiration.
I think DCS Warthog will be something else. I have the money saved for the HOTAS, but unfortunately I join the Navy as an Avionics Tech in January, only to have my PC and Sim Gear in a shed for a few years while I learn the trade. It's a cruel world. Been waiting 2 years for Warthog, then if it's released around Christmas I get only 4 days with it.

Nice report beach.
Yeah, actually there are a few inaccuracies in the book relating to the aviation standpoint. It was almost like the guy didn't run the whole draft past an ex fighter pilot or something.. But, that said, can you tell us why the author is inaccurate Eagledeer? Did the Jordanians not have MiGs or did they not cross Jordanian airspace?
Just would like to know for my own benefit.. Thanks for the comments!

Absolutely-Jordan has never owned or operated Migs. The RJAF has fielded Vampires, Hawker Hunters, F-104s, F-5s, Casa Trainers, Mirage F-1s, and F-16s, amongst others, but all Western. They once flirted with buying Soviet equipment, but it turned out to be a ruse to get better terms form the West. As an aside, back in the seventies, the US supply Jordan with some A-10As, but the Israelis opposed it.
The Israelis skirted the Jordanian port of Aqaba in the south on the way to the Reactor. Coincidently, King Hussein was on his yacht and the story goes he called Air Force command and told them to give the neighboring countries a head's up. On the way back, the fighters flew directly over Jordan, but they were unopposed. I personally believe there was some communication in connection with the impending attack-both Air Forces (as well as countries) have a long history of coordination-even before the peace.
There is a good book on the attack called Bullseye One. I believe this book was published with the tacit approval of the IDF, and has some decent information, including a sight picture sketch of the Death Dot on the Reactor done by one of the pilots in preparation for the attack.
Hope that was helpful. Thanks for all the reports-I'm re-reading the F4 and FC one's as I get back into it things in preparation for A-10C.
