Hi Mogs,

Got me a bit puzzled here. Thought the team doing the WWI version had produced several British/German/French aircraft! Am I misunderstanding you? Not sure if they are actually available yet.

As to Russian then as I understand it they mostly flew British and French designs - Revell used to do a Morane mono kit in Russian Markings and somewhere I have an article on British planes in Russian service. I am sure they made a few of their own but the only ones that come to mind are the Ilya Mourometz bomber and the Anatra D/DS 2 seater. As far as I am aware there are no EAW models of these 2 indigenous Russian aircraft.

Hello Peter,

Been trying to put together a WW1 playable set.

I've been round the download sites a couple of times, and I have German, Austro-Hungarian, French and US aircraft. No British aircraft there.

I know the Col has been working on a SE5, and some great biplane bombers, but I don't think they are finished yet. Anyone working on a Camel?

Love that Russian bomber!

The WW1 link on FT's community page goes through to the WW1 download page at Sandbaggers on which there are no planes by FT and no British marked planes at all.

I see from the "Western front" thread that FT has done a number of British skins - are these downloadable anywhere?

There are Flyright's base Spads. Anyone done any skins?

g'day moggo...

have completed 25 odd HR british/aussie/canadian skins for
western front and 3 russian N17 skins for other front
scenarios .....if they ever eventuate....

As there is no camel yet, the british skins are all nieuport
12's 16's 17's, 24's plus 5 Se5a's, 3 handley page bombers,
4 RFC spad VII's and a Salmson 2A.

hanging out for the camel and a gotha to complete the entente
and central powers primary aircraft sets.

if you'd like any of these let's know and I'll zip em to ya...

...the gothas not going to happen unless the Col makes it and you can have my camel as-is, meaning you have to find somebody to fix the rendering and make/map new pcxs, i lost everything else concerning these 2 except for the sopwith 3dz and before you ask! the answers nope! am not doing them over again, so if thats whats holding you up then theres no excuse not to go to release, even a beta version is better than nothing - cheers

Thanks chaps for all this work. I wondered if something was happening behind the scenes.

Ade, I'll take whatever you got. Many thanks!

Hi Mogs,

Well I guess that answers that question - thought the Western Front team had realesed the planes but clearly I am wrong. The Mourometz is one of the little known aircraft of WWI, predated Gotha and 0/400 and was used a lot. Bet it was a handful to fly with that short nose and long rear fuselage. I believe the first versions were passenger aircraft and that the brave ones could go for a walk on an open "promenade deck" on top of the fuselage at 60+ mph!

Cheers

Peter

Al...you're a bloody disaster area m8... sigh

no probs substituting the camel with a later
nieuport model in RFC schemes, and the gotha
is easily replaced with the lozenge painted HP..

the main delay is targets and bases and a trench
terrain to give the authenticity to mission selection
and visual accuracy to the scenario era.

moggo...will zip a few together for you and get em
away as soon as, ralf has done some, but not all of
the FM's at this point.

The map and target set are stalled temporarily due to us having to develop a new map editor to finish them. Most of the target 'sites' are in place but not yet 'furnished', and the frontline is mapped out and the trench terrain ready to place as soon as we have an editor that will do it..... Jell and I are tweaking his new editor to get it working with the new tileset as we speak....

cheers,

Pobs
