Chaps

Any of you who have the new Brit Forces add-on fancy grabbing an SA-80, mounting a Jackal and grabbing a brew for a bit of co-op action later on?

My usual sparring partners are likely to be there - but anyone else with the new content and who plans on joining us -

We'll be on the SimHQ TS channel at 1800hrs GMT - bring your best UK banter and slang....

(some tips here http://www.arrse.co.uk/wiki/Dictionary for Brit Mil slang)

I have downloaded a 10-player coop from Armaholic featured Brit forces - so we may try that.

Limited places unfortunately due to wheezy old PC - but all welcome and w'll be back home in time for tea and medals!

UPDATE - Thanx to all who joined - neilydone, Bagher, Sharpe, fatty, Jan/Ghost and Saghem(?) - great fun working our way though town on the new map with the Warriors and the Jackals dishing out the hurt...! Slow and careful won the day...

Not sure about the second mission - the included BAF co-op defence of the FOB though - without all units being human I don't see how you can possibly have time to rig an all-round effective defence - especially with armour heading your way...

Just realised there was arty support available - so forget building the MG defences and just bring in 'danger close' fire mission you reckon?

Nice games, creeping along in the Jackal with Barry was fun. Now that the SimHQ server supports the BAF pack, I will try to get some new missions out for the Sunday crew - probably between 4-8 players?for

Yes, thanks, guys, after many months of Flashheart, self and a bunch of AI, it's great to play with an almost full complement of competent humans plus voice comms.

Fatty, it was good driving you and your .50 cal around and I look forward ro playing your coop missions in this module.

Not going to be around next Sunday unfortunately - so have fun without me!

Fatty - custom missons sound excellent!

I was having a blast mucking about with the Apache the other day and had an idea for a scenario where a small SF team is doing a night raid/rescue - it all goes loud and lots of bad guys start heading in and a QRF (quick reaction force) Apache is dispatched to help - might make an excellent air/ground coop mission...

May be mix in a couple of ZSU-23s on the ground that the ground team has to take out, and possibly even civvies in the mix as well - so the Apache has to positive ID the targets.... Might make for excellent mission (day or night)...

Catch you guys the following week!

I made a new Brit mission called Mountain Defence, for 14 players though it can be played with fewer. I'll try to get one out along the lines of what you suggested Flashheart, but it might not be ready til next weekend.

Update:

Out all day today but if anyone (Bagher, neilydone etc) is around and at a loose end a bit later than our usual time (say 1900GMT) I'll try and jump on TS if I get back in time...

I wont be around for tonight nor for a few upcoming weeks since...I am moving overseas (Brussels, to be precise) - I've been posted on secondment there for a period of two years...

My official date to move is 18th Sept and so regrettably it may well be late Sept when I can join in again on Sundays.

I'll let y'all know when I get up and running with my game PC and broadband connection but up until then I hope folks have fun!

Neil.

Two new missions for you guys, one small one based on Flashheart's post (6 players) and one larger one (up to 14). Link here: http://jmgillis.com/mpmissions.rar

Neil - I'd love to know what you think of Brussels when you get settled in, I might be moving there next year smile

Online now if anyone wants a bit of a co-op game...

Update - thx to Saghem and Ghost for a brief test-run of those missons from fatty - some intense stuff there calling in air support from the FOB - extremely plausible scenarios!

And thx to fatty of course of some superb mission design!

Hopefully next time get some more folks to fill out the AI slots and do it properly...

I have to practice my flying skills a lot. It was very hard to get a picture what was going on from 500ft, flying the AV8 and actually giving some air support. At least Flasheart gave me a good laser and I managed to drop one bomb on target. It is very cool hearing how things go on(wrong) smile on the ground. Gave me a good feel of "being there"

btw.. Flashheart, what was the name of that mission, and were can I find it so I can practice a bit.

Hey Ghost - thanks for the air support yesterday - pretty intense stuff!

"Where are you this thing is gonna be over in 5mins!"

I had a second group lased with the designator on the south - but they got my range before you could turn around and set up for another attack run.

We'll have to practise our JTAC procedures!

The missions were made by fatty above http://jmgillis.com/mpmissions.rar - he's the whizz behind them. The defend the FOB one is the Mountain Defence one.

So again the call goes out to any Euro/UK (or US/north American players) up for a great co-op experience - we have some nice missions going here - but just need a few more humans to take the slots.

Sunday 1800hr GMT?
