OK, I know SimHQ hasn't moved to the British Forces add-on yet, but i won't be here Monday (Yearly K9 re-certification), but will be by the time we start using the newest add-on...
I have ArmA2 thats in it's own install, patched to v1.07... I only play with SimHQ so I put the few mandatory add-ons directly in the add-on folder, so no @SimHQ stuff for me.
I have ArmA2 OA installed, and believe that is the main exe to use. I now have the British Forces add-on installed and working, and marked as an expansion in the OA game.
So, with all three being Steam games... what might my shortcut look like to play the OA shortcut with the original armA2 as a mod folder? I don't think the British Forces need to be added because it's already tied to OA.
I never understood this shortcut @folder crap... don't know why the hell they couldn't do it like the original GR and it's 2 official add-ons.
?
thx

"XXXXXX\arma2oa.exe" "-mod=YYYYYY;Expansion;ca"
Where XXXXXX is the full path to your OA EXE, and YYYYYY is the full path to your ArmA2 directory.
EDIT: Note the quotes around the -mod part, necessary for paths that contain spaces.

OK as usual... I'm doing something wrong....again.
here is my OA EXE path: "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ArmA2OA.exe"
here is my ArmA2 path: "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\arma2.exe"
Is this correct then?
"C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ArmA2OA.exe" -mod="C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\arma2.exe";Expansion;ca"
Thx

Try this:
"C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ArmA2OA.exe" "-mod=C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2;Expansion;ca"
You don't need to link to the ArmA2 exe, just the folder it's in.
EDIT: there was a quotation mark out of place too

. So when I run ARMA-II with both the Arrowhead and BAF - I edit my ARMA-II shortcut on the DT to look like Magnums? "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ArmA2OA.exe" "-mod=C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2;Expansion;ca" . And get these too? . Then I'll be Golden? .

well i'm no expert but I don't think you can use the shortcut for ArmA2, think you have to use the OA shortcut and add ArmA2... but could be wrong.

Yeah, use your OA shortcut to be safe. Otherwise, you've got it right. The idea is to load the ArmA2 content into OA as if it were a mod. You can append the rest of your mods to that -mod line if you want.

Run BAF once to initialize, then run OA after. No need for further editing, it installs like a patch.

Last Question:
The extra "required maps and Molatian Army DLs (and others), they go in here? C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\AddOns
and then - do I need to add the folders like this? C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\AddOns\@molation_army
...etc for each addon
... and then "point" to them in the cmd edit - I heard that ARMA2 may have an addon selector in its game interface.

OK - evidently the post that was previous to this one violated some sort of image agreement - but annnnywayyyyy ---
Roger - got that - but the orig ARMA use to have @[folder] in the /Addons directory, and that's easy enough to figure out with the retail version - but I have the steam version and things are interesting, to say the least, when it comes to file directories - as far as I can tell - I need to drop these files folders into here: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\AddOns
... and making sure they have the " @ " symbol associated with them and "pointed" to in my shortcut with the -mod cmd
Am I heading in the right direction? Magnum might be the person to ask - You said you had Steam version right?

We didn't remove your screens... but yes, if you don't use the @folder way of using add-ons, like me... I only play on and with SimHQ, so i put all the required add-ons directing into my arma2/addons folder... so then the shortcut with the @folders aren't needed.

If you are dropping them into your Addons folder, do not use the @folders. Only use @folders if you put them in the root ArmA2 directory.
If you are modding to include mods, you need to put your mods in your OA folder, not your ArmA2 folder.
