If you haven't yet bought it, I would advise saving your $60. It is probably the worst iteration of the game ever. Controls completely different. Gameplay is much worse. Defense is impossible. It is as if they took at and made it into an Atari 2600 game with 2010 graphics. I played for about an hour and went right back to NCAA. Oh well.

thx you... here I was debating because i swore off yearly sport games, but reviews are saying this is the best one ever...of course reviews from sites that got preview copies and have their reviews up BEFORE actual release... I was thinking, now I'm done.

The review I read at IGN yesterday gave it an 8.0 out of 10. BUT, they said it was not worth buying if you had Madden 10.
I had no plans to get it this year, anyway. I still have 09 and, for as little as I play it, I can't see spending the money on a new one. I would, however, consider buying Madden 10 now that the price has dropped.

In other news backbreaker released a major overhaul patch. The game is really good now to say the least. Also, they have a user made patch that overhauls the teams to NFL teams. It is pretty easy to install if you have a usb flash drive.

I just came home over lunch and printed out the Amazon trade in labels. $32.
Good news is I got a $20 preorder credit for this on Amazon that is good until around 9/30. So aside from the unfortunate fact that I traded in Madden 10, I'll get $52 back out of the $60 spent. Oh well.

They really nerfed the defense so anyone can just pick up the game and start throwing long bombs on offense.
One thing I can't absolutely stand is when devs break something that wasnt broken....i.e. adjusting your defense before the snap is now nearly impossible because they mapped everything to the D-pad instead of having Triangle be coverage, L1 be D-Line etc.,
Now what you used to be able to do on the fly is now impossible to do before the snap...Idiots.
Save your money. Horrible madden iteration.
