Very good review. I'm certainly interested in picking up this mouse at some point.

Thanks for the review, I'm considering replacing my trusty MX518 and this may be a candidate.

Nice review. $100 MSRP is a bit steep but it looks like it brings a lot to the table. Might have to consider it as part of the new system build I've got going on.

I was very intersted in this mouse and now I think even more so. I found this to be a very helpful review. It sounds like from the review that you palm your mouse. I guess for a fingertip sort of guy I'll have to test it out at a store.

Can you speak again as to the buttons near the left mouse button. I believe you said you found them quite easily to access as you played. Did you find that you used these buttons a lot in your testing? And I guess overall, would you feel that you were more inclined to use those buttons for tasks during your game and how important a tast would you associate with various buttons (say, putting a reload button on one of them). I guess are these buttons you would trust with important tasks?

Thanks for writing it. This was like the right review at the right time for me smile

Hi Corsair,

Yes I do tend to "palm" the mouse. I mentioned a "lower" sort of grip, because the G700 is roughly 4.75 to 5 inches in length. So my grip is lower on the mouse (meaning my fingers aren't hanging over the front edge), with my fingertips falling in line with the mouse wheel, and the top most button on the left (G10). This also lets my thumb fall almost perfectly on the central indentation of the 4 thumb buttons. My actual palm doesn't touch the G700 in this grip posture, which has been the case with most mice I've used.

I did try using a sort of fingertip grip. I am not certain of the exact posture, but the G700 seems suitable for either grip type.

Now as to my using the buttons. I did find the three buttons near the left mouse button to be very useful. For me, these three are very much like reaching center to the mouse wheel.

As an example, for my main gaming in ArmA2, I assigned G10 (the top most of the three) to be my TeamSpeak PTT key, something I use extensively while playing. For the button right below, G9, I assigned this to the ArmA2 in-game "GROUP" voice comms PTT... again very frequently used in conjunction with TeamSpeak (for me anyway).

This way, I can speak on TS with ease, and while also mousing my view as I move... AND I can hold the right mouse button at the same time, if I need to "zoom in" my view.

Pretty convenient.

Glad you guys found the review useful.

For those of you who found the review useful, PLEASE NOTE:

Since the review was published, Logitech advised the issue with my games not recognizing some additional buttons without a profile was a Windows limitation and NOT an issue with the G700. Windows mice are limited to no more than 5 buttons without an additional software profile addition.

The review has been updated with a notation.

That really helps explain how well-positioned you found those buttons. That does suggest that they are quite useful.

Think I might go for this one since my Razer Copperhead sort of died on me. I might not use all the buttons - but I see myself using some - 'cause buttons = options smile

Still will have to test drive one in a store when they come up here first just for comfort.

Thanks again.

Wow - very thorough there adlabs! Nice review. smile

I'm like you though, that's too pricey for me. Is someone going to review the new G-Series headphones that came out? Those look nice and I might be able to justify the price on those - as long as the wife doesn't know what it is. LOL
