very useful review, thx! - Can the mouse buttons be used as "throttle levers"? - I.e. keeping a button down will slowly increase the "throttle" (say) and holding another down will decrease it?

Thx.

Yes, our resident audio expert Joe Keefe will be doing the honors on it.

You can do something like this using the macro editor. The macro editor does capture delays in keystrokes in real time, AND they can be manually added at the desired interval!

So I'd recording a macro which would press a key that increases the throttle. Then as mentioned above, I can either capture the interval in realtime while recording, or SetPoint lets you insert the delays manually, and define their length.

Macro example:

Key Press
250ms delay

Then, SetPoint allows the button to be programmed for the macro to repeat while the button is held.

This configuration works well. A quick press of the button simply fires a single key press from the macro. But holding the button makes it loop the macro, so the key is pressed repeatedly at the assigned interval, until released. Make another for throttle down, and assign them to the desired buttons.

Excellent software IMO.

Great review Adlabs.

One quick tip I'd like to give as a G500 owner (similar DPI specs as the G700) is that this baby can do 5700 DPI for a reason. Depending on the size of your monitor though you don't have to set it that high as you mentioned but it's still good to get all the "horsepower" out of your mouse as possible since you pay a good price for it. I find the only way to do it is to set your mouse speed to zero which I look at as zero amplification (or DPI multiplication).

Here are your settings ...

X-axis DPI Levels 1:700
Y-axis DPI Levels 1:700
Speed OS
Acceleration OS
Report Rate 125

Here are the settings that I have set all the time for everything (I use a 22" monitor) ...

X-axis DPI Levels 1:3500
Y-axis DPI Levels 1:3500
Speed 0
Acceleration 1
Report Rate 500
