Hi all

Short on cash these days, but I'm trying to get togehter the bucks in time for the 100USD Offer on SB2.

I was wondering: Living in Austria, should I order from the US, or will shipping costs kill me? The German Website I once saw selling it also had insane shipping costs (like 15EUR or such...)

I need a decent source that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to ship here.

I ordered the sim and the upgrade directly at eSim, got it within a week, paid no customs duty.

Well, you "should" have. Law abiding citizens would report their imports on their own. But of course, how is anyone to find out if you don't. Still, you can't take not paying customs for granted, so there's always a chance to see 19% VAT applied plus eventual customs fees (or whatever the current VAT rate is in Austria).

from the U.S. to Austria in a week - now that's lightening fast.

Still pondering to order it ... as they have the 25$ off until August, 21st. OTOH, I am pretty sure I would order 2.5 later on as well, and most likely I would be charged for that, too. So it propably makes sense to wait until 2.5 is out.

I'm also looking to purchase, I am from the UK.

I saw this:

SB Pro PE 2.5 will be made available both by DVD and digital download

When will this service be available or will it be quicker to order as normal form the USA?

- well, you'll need the USB Dongle anyway, that was meant for upgrading, I fear. You'd have to order by mail to receive their means of DRM.

Ordering SB Pro PE now (at $100.-) and later the 2.5 upgrade ($25.-) will cost exactly the same as ordering 2.5x in late August, except that you can play now and if you don't like it you don't need to pay for the upgrade, and you can profit from the immediate availability of the downloadable upgrade rather than waiting for the shipment after the official release.

As DocW suspects, the CodeMeter USB stick is a necessity both to play it now and to get the upgrade, so here's your chance to prepare yourself in time for the new release at no extra cost.

RSColonel_131st, I feel for you, but there's really no other way but to bite the bullet and buy it. biggrin I told myself back then, if it was a physical object that I valued as much, would I pay $125 for it?

The thing is, at least with me, I'll pay $150 for a piece of hardware quite easily, but I feel wasteful when I spend more than $20 on a piece of software. Mostly I'm right, because the hardware will usually offer me a lot more long-term use/enjoyment. But does SB Pro PE fall into that category? Is there anything comparable out there? I don't play it often but I would hate to miss the few times I do get around to firing it up. And I feel I owe it to my hobby to to own this masterpiece. smile

Just order from eSim (because you always should order from the source if you can) and grit your teeth when the bill comes, especially customs/VAT. Once it's up and running you'll completely forget about it all. biggrin

How is this for compatibility with windows 7 64 bit ? Are there any issues I should consider before I take the plunge?
