Hi,

I love all the work done on EECH over the years, especially the new exes - thanks guys! One thing i do struggle with are the new land textures which look fantastic from afar, but tend to disturb my sense of realism when low flying, especially over the cities. I just get shocked out of the game when I see flat buildings from 40m high and when the textures meet another, they don't blend well because they are so detailed(F4AF is the same). On the other hand, I love the new water!

So, is there a way to keep the old cartoonish land textures with the new exes? Can I just delete/move the files from the textures folders or is there more involved?

[Yes, it's just me, I'm silly!]

As I understand it,what you wrote it's enough to change the file eech.ini. cbar parameter = 3000.0 or greater.

Hi,

Thanks, but it isn't the cbar value - I'm happy with the pop up of 3d buildings.

It's the ground textures, especially in the "cities" but really everywhere, that look fantastic from afar but, because they are so detailed, they don't blend well when they meet the next texture block beside them ie when the textures change. And looking down at 2d houses in the cities from 10m high just bends my sense of believability - blank green I can believe.

I do love the textures and all the work that has gone into them, but they just aren't right for me.

You can try setting texture_colour to 0 in eech.ini.
