Absolutely LOVING EECH!!!
I am also RL glider pilot and notice that people are starting to overlay their scenery with google earth textures on Condor soaring. This is apparently ok for personal use and some companies are also providing scenery packs to purchase with Google earth licences.

Does anyone know what it would take to convert these textures for use within EECH??

Check out the quality here: http://www.postfrontal.com/condor/index_ENG.php

Regards

I have returned to EECH , again after an absence . The Idea that we could fly over real maps from Google earth is awesome .Imagine the possibilites , the office you work at the factory , all could be blown to bits....:)

I believe several of the new maps do use textures from google earth. That said, EECH probably isn't the most appropriate place to use satelite or aerial photos for textures. With helicopters you're mostly flying very low, under 500 feet. Satelite photos look great from high altitudes, but down low it doesn't look so good.

If I'm not mistaken, postfrontal doesn't use google earth, but rather have bought high quality aerial photographs they've used for their textures.
