Really outstanding...fine story continuity, camera work, and editing. THIS is one for the archives.
Gisbod should have been in on the 'Flyboys' and 'Red Baron' movies, his less than 8 minutes of video puts both to shame. 'Course they were shameful to begin with, but someone with his talent might have kept them from being the pieces of crap they are...

Love. You can know all the math in the 'Verse, but take a boat in the air you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughtta fall down, tells ya she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Funny I just watched this a short time ago on the History channel "Dog Fight"
Not only did the graphics, but the presentation looked far superior in this clip.
Excellent work. Fawlty

Nice to see a movie with a story to it. I enjoyed it a lot.

imaginative and brilliantly executed with such limited resources. There is an account of Voss' last fight by Rothsay Stuart-Wortley that is interesting. "We knew them all (German Aces) by sight..By the way they flew....they painted their machines with a medley of gay colours...Voss affected checkers of black and white.... Then of a sudden I espied ...a solitary, lonely Hun...this triplane was a rara avis on the Ypres front." Stuart -Wortley says in his opinion Voss' triplane was fitted with a captured Le Rhone engine As to the number of planes present, he says, "We took to the air, six Bristol fighters, eight SE5a's, and two flights of Camels", Then the fight.."Bald headed he went for the SE5a's, guarded though they were by the Bristols from above and the Camels below"...For eight minutes on end he fought them, the whole eight of them while I sat 1000 feet above watching with admiration this display of skill." Describing the fight Stuart -Wortley says "he broke off the fight and darted off the join a flight of Albatri which had appeared upon the scene.....placing himself at the head of this formation, he again wheeled to the attack. But the Albatri proved themselves unworthy of their would-be leader. They followed him to just within range of our machines and then they turned and fled. The triplane came on alone.." Hope the account is of interest to those who may not have read it.

As someone who doesn't fly ROF - the online issue-. i have nevertheless watched this in great admiration Both for the video itself and the graphics of the sim.
Superb work.

Hi guys, thanks for the comments.. It's late now, so I'll reply to some in a bit more depth tomorrow - but just to let you know - I've deleted the video , but replaced it - there were a few typo errors and bits and pieces that were bugging me - so hopefully it's better now! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKspJtIMPH0Ps Squid.. Could you change the link in your opening post as it's now unavailable? Thanks Gisbod

Avimus, all history is suspect when taken from one source only because it is so subjective. I'll give Stuart-Wortley's take on it. The History Channel talks of a cloud base at 9000 feet. Stuart-Wortley says."It was a perfect morning.Rarely have I seen the atmosphere so clear. He says "England! From 20000 feet above the earth how lovely and alluring are the white cliffs of Dover." Later he says "I sat 1000 feet above watching with profoundest admiration this display of skill." Best I can do.
