I read thru the FAQ's and it mentioned OFF has issues with ATI graphic cards. I was thinking of moving to an AMD system compared to what I have now, because of the price and performance.I'm not a big fan of ATI and there way of doing the front end for there chips, compared with Nvidia, but any issues to speak of.
Also If you have and AMD System please let me know what it is. Allen If you read this let me know a little more about that one you mentioned under Hardware and software please.

Works fine with most reasonably good ATI cards, I just had a ATI 5870 worked great. Others in the forum are running NVidia or ATI fine. Minor differences in rendering (ATI scenery is punchier, more saturated slightly, and some reflections don't show quite so well in ATI but otherwise great). There are many tweaking threads and tips as you say on the FAQ page.

I have ATI Crossfire 4890's (9.6 drivers) and OFF plays perfectly.

Hi Bruce

I have some problems with my ATI Radeon HD 5770 using Catalyst driver 10.3. frown

It might be related to that driver version or some setting in CFS3Config, and I'm trying to find a solution. dizzy

Cheers

But others are running ATI fine as was mentioned on the other forum vonOben so you need to try updating your graphic drivers as was suggested, or try running cfs3config and resetting to default, exiting, then going back in and resetting?

I had a 5870 with later drivers installed (10.4 I think) and didn't get that.

If that doesn't work also you could try knocking a slider back 1 (terrain or scenery, or maybe you need to increase or decrease effects slider?)

Sorry, I just dropped in yesterday. So, this is probably too late.

I uninstalled all my games a while back. Rebuilt my OS and applications. Then started reinstalling games -- approximately 40 so far old and new. They all work -- at their max settings at 1920x1200 (except in those few old games that don't support that resolution -- some of those do go 1920x1200 with a user-patch). OFF is the only one that had an issue with non-smooth video.

I reinstalled OFF today. At first, the game crashed when in flight (crashed out of CFS3 and back to control of the OFF Patch). But, I found the solution to the crashes.

Bottom line: I can set all in-game graphical settings to maximum at 1920x1200 with 0AA (I always play with 0AA so this is probably not necessary to be 0AA). EXCEPT, the Scenery Detail slider has to remain at 3. Don't know "where the fault lies" for that.

At the settings I have tried, there is some stutter -- seemingly as flight brings in new scenery. That's where it is -- right now, today. Still playable. But, some folks cannot abide even the most minor stutter.

BTW there are ATI tweaking tips on the FAQ. ATi seems to lag initially - usually sorted by pause and then panning around a few times, or set as per the TIPS on the FAQ page helps too.
As always everyone's PC configuration is different (and can change of course) but most people run fine.
